Bonus points if you know the name of the song where the title comes from. Without the use of any search engine.

So I started work today. Which was cool. Woke up at 6:30, left the house by 7:15-ish. Everyone seemed happy that I was back. D (the nice one) seemed convinced that I was back just to be his own personal slave. “You’re back? Great! Michelle, you can get started by clearing out this area…” D (the not-so-nice one) just spent a lot of time complaining about work, so I did kind of just tuned him out. My supervisor seemed pleased that I was back (which is always awesome, considering that he was the one who had to talk them into letting him hire me again). So that went well. They have a lot of things for me to do this summer, although I didn’t do that much work today since they didn’t have that information ready for me yet. So I spent a lot of time editing and writing as well as saying hi to people that I haven’t seen in a while. Sometimes I think that after three years, they still have nothing more important to ask me than “How was school?” Oh well, such is life.

And… yeah… That’s about all I did today. And tomorrow, I get to play on the computer at work for an hour (by play I mean just scroll through one of the databases to pick a few examples) and then I’m in a meeting for probably about an hour or so. Then more work. Whoot? I don’t know, it should be okay this summer. At least I know in advanced most of the things that I will be doing.

What’s the best summer job you ever had?
Well considering I’ve only worked at one company during the summer (ever, from 2006-now), I’d have to say that the best year was 2008. Sort of. Well, they all beat 2006. 2007 was pretty okay, but I think 2008 was the best since that’s the year that I really became friends with people. Plus, I went paintballing with people from work. Which I did mention do them that we should do again. They’re planning something, I hope.

Tell me about the worst date you ever went on.
[Edited to prevent me from having the same conversation a few hundred times.]

Do you think the age for a driver’s license should be raised (currently 16 here in the U.S.)?
… Why on earth would I care about the age for driving in the States? That being said, it’s pretty okay right now in Canada. 16 for a Learners, but I really do think that they should get rid of that second road test. I guess I’ll schedule that… eventually…

  1. I have no idea about the title. I googled it anyway just out of curiosity and your site comes up first. Pretty neat. Anyway I am glad that work was happy to see you and you are happy about that. It’s great to have a summer job. I hope I can find something.

  2. I also have no idea about the title. I could google it but I’m too lazy for even that. Yay for work already! Well I say that, probably not quite as exciting for you. I miss work, le sigh.

  3. It eighteen where you can drive legally here in Britain but we can drink from sixteen, so I guess that’s why.

It’s a good thing your supervisor’s where happy you where back, that means they know you do your job properly. 🙂 x
