I know how you feel… how people dare to even suggest what you do is a cheap activity or hobbies, seriously I don’t get it, if she thinks is so cheap why in the world is she asking for you to spare some beads…. not to mention that if it was random not so close friend this apply more… I think you were quite polite so kudos to you for being so nice 🙂

LOL. The person who wrote that email sounds strangely like someone else I know online who likes to make jewellery. A young immature one. XD

I used to really like making jewellery but my beads weren’t amazing and I just made simple bracelets with simple beads in… simple patterns. I still have a huge bag of clear plastic beads. I attempted to make beaded bags at some point, but lost the patience. 🙁

People should realise that WOW, just because you can afford something for yourself doesn’t mean you’re going to share. 😛 Sounds mean, but it’s completely reasonable. At least they weren’t rude about asking but that was pretty “in-your-face”.

Seriously?! “Could I also get some beads from you? I know you have a lot and you could probably spare some.” SERIOUSLY!? WHAT THE HELL! Who honestly says something like that and doesn’t realize they are being kind of a twat? You don’t ask for something and say, “you have plenty. Spare some.” because you’re too damn cheap to invest and buy your own. Ugh.

I don’t know why everyone thinks they can make jewelry and then sell it at craftfairs and or online to make an easy buck. If the person made their own hand blown glass or made something that was very unique. Then I’d look at their booth at a craft-fair or online but not if it took them less then 30 minutes to make something and call it again.

Like Lauren I was given a tool box full of jewelry making and beads one christmas. So far I’ve only made stuff for myself and friends as presents but would never think about selling because I’m lazy and I know how much work it is to work at a craft-fair.

That’s ridiculous. My parents got me a bunch of jewelry making stuff one year for Christmas and that was my ENTIRE gift because it can cost so much. I’ll gift someone with jewelry I’ve made, but sure as hell wouldn’t give my supplies away either.
