My husband was awake for the removal of all four of his, and apparently two of them shattered and the dentist had to really dig to get them out. I, on the other hand, was “lucky” enough to have three severely impacted wisdom teeth, so I was put out for the procedure. They had to cut into my gums and dig around to remove the three impacted wisdom teeth. I woke up groggy and out of it, and it wasn’t long before the pain meds wore off. My dentist was really nice, and fortunately also aware of my medication allergies. I got a script for Vicodin, yay! Oh, and some type of anti-bacterial mouthwash. And instructions not to brush my teeth for a few days, don’t eat anything but soft foods, etc.
Good luck with getting your other two wisdom teeth out. I hope it goes smoothly for you!

Glad everything went relatively well. I should probably get my wisdom teeth out, but no insurance generally means putting up with everything not likely to result in my imminent death, unfortunately.
