Work’s been fairly consistent. Go to work, log into my computer and scan a few documents before getting my ‘real’ task for the day. Now, my supervisor will be off on vacation, so he’s loaded me up with lots of things to do next week (which is a four day week, thanks to Victoria Day! Hello, long weekend, it’s been a while!). So that should be… fun? A lot of driving between buildings, he thinks I might even just end up spending whole days over there… I hope not. But that’s work.

Umm… Someone new from work knows about the Boyfriend and myself. That would be my own doing, and I really have a good reason for it. This occurred on Tuesday. Umm, not going to get into it right now as it involves a story and me explaining why I would even tell anyone. That being said, D’s pretty trustworthy and he understands all my reasons for why people can’t know. Plus he thinks it’s cute. And he actually used the word ‘cute’, which was kind of weird. And to be honest, I only told him because he gave me some advice that was kind of useless unless someone found out. And yeah, that was Tuesday.

Thursday was the Grey’s Anatomy season finale. Two hours of “No!” and “LIVE, DAMN YOU!” and “NOOOOOOOOOOOO” from me. It was good fun. And, of course, they had to end on a cliffhanger of all things. Two hours of all that and a freaking cliffhanger. But I’m sad that I have to wait until season 6 begins in order to find out what happens! Ugh, when do season premieres start again? (Too far from now, obviously!) I’m also wanting to know what’ll happen in season 3 of Private Practice as well, but not as much as I want to find out what happens in season 6 of Grey’s! And that’s it for my fandom-ness for today.

I’m currently in the process of designing new crochet projects. One involves math (… I know, math and me… What a horrible combination!) and the other involves cutesy animals and babies. So that’s interesting. I also came up with a new project that I’m going to do for myself so I have something to decorate my cubicle with. But I’m keeping that completely underwraps since I want it to be a surprise (I’m not even telling my sister!).

Speaking of my sister… My other sister is officially coming back to Canada on the 27th. My parents are falling over themselves getting things ready so that we’re all welcoming and that she’ll stay instead of moving out as soon as she finds a new job here. Fat chance of that, seeing as it turns out that the only reason that she took the job in California was because it allowed her to get away from the parents. I mean, honestly, just taking a job in the next province would have done that, or stay in the same province and just move time zones! But yeah, that’s how badly she wanted to get away from the parents. And they’re thinking that they can convince her to stay at home…

But on a happier note, I’ve been getting updates done on my baby (read: Ames!). Turning 3 years old next month, I’m crazy happy about that. I’ll probably make the site a new layout in a while (the current one was just put up in late April!) but right now I’m organizing some kind of ‘election’ in the game as it takes place in a city and they don’t have any form of municipal government at the moment. But it’s not going to have mayors or anything, just councillors. Which was treated very nicely when I first suggested it, so I’ll see how that goes.

Umm… I think that’s about it? Oh! One last bit – I need to go to bank to get money so I can buy myself a present that my parents are going to kill me over (maybe). =) I’ll be sure to post photos when I get it!

Plans for the week https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/20/plans-for-the-week/ https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/20/plans-for-the-week/#comments Tue, 21 Apr 2009 03:17:32 +0000 http://imaginarysunshine.com/?p=2241 I got loads of sleep the night before (Saturday -> Sunday) and a decent amount of sleep last night (Sunday -> Monday). I’ve also been attempting to remember every single thing from my psychology notes, lecture slides (downloaded, of course) and textbook (as she will put questions with facts that are from the textbook, and not the lecture notes – and she’ll also put questions that are from information that we got guest lecturers as well) – all in a bid to make sure that we a) attend class, b) pay attention and c) use the stupid textbook that cost way too much.

I’ve also been studying chemistry. Which has been going okay… I have six problem sets to do before my exam (plus the practice final!). I’m doing three tonight, three tomorrow (before 3pm) and then spending the rest of tomorrow studying for my psychology final (which is on Wednesday morning – 8:30am ftl…). And then Wednesday will be spent (after my final, of course) finishing up studying for my chemistry final, which will be on Thursday. And then I’ll be done! Yeah! I also need to make jewelry on Thursday as my sister needs a gift for her friend’s birthday present. Which means that I a) need to come up with something, b) need to make up packaging that has my name somewhere on it and c) need to photograph it for my own personal jewelry purposes. And completely update some pages on Chelle-Chelle.com. Oh, and I’ve been meaning to update Ames as well… New layout, new in character contest… Oh, the thought bunnies are running rampant in my head!

Then I have Friday where I’m going to start job searching (well, I’ve already started – but shall be intensifying the job search… Know anyone who’s hiring?) and I’m going to volunteering (missed last week because of my biology final). Plus I now have a green Post-It on my laptop telling me to ask L and/or J (the volunteering coordinators) if they’d mind being references. I’ll most likely ask L, I hardly ever see J around. But both of them seem to like me, so that’s okay. So that will be my week up until Friday… I also have to go to the library and return some books since they’ve been sitting in a neat pile in my room going “Michelle? Michelle…? You need to return us soon instead of just renewing us online… Michelle…? DAMN IT, WOMAN! TAKE US BACK TO THE LIBRARY!” (… I occasionally have an overactive imagination. And I’m not crazy. Honest…)

And then Saturday… I have excellent plans for Saturday. They involve seeing Clay! I have no clue what else that we’re doing though. But then we seem to be rather bad at making plans in advanced. A lot of them involve… meeting up and then taking half an hour deciding on where we’re going, what we’re going to do and oh hey, what do we want for dinner? It used to drive me insane the first… two times that we went out. Because I make plans for everything. Ask me what I’m going to take next year and the year after that and the year after that and I can tell you exactly what courses that I want to take, what schools I’m applying to and what I’m planning on having for lunch tomorrow. But I eventually decided that a little bit of spontaneity wasn’t going to kill me. (However, the jury is still out on how many minutes the spontaneity shortens my life by.) But we have plans! For Saturday! And there’s no way he can forget since one or both of us have mentioned it at least once every other day for the last… two weeks. Or so. Probably a little bit more than two weeks.

Anyways… It’s Monday! What did you do today that was awesome and deserving of mention (sort of)?

I paid for lunch when my sister, my dad and I went out for lunch today. My father has expensive tastes in restaurants, just have to mention.

Things that I’ve learned in the last 24 hours https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/04/things-that-ive-learned-in-the-last-24-hours/ https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/04/things-that-ive-learned-in-the-last-24-hours/#comments Sat, 04 Apr 2009 22:39:19 +0000 http://imaginarysunshine.com/?p=2203
  • I get easily annoyed when people say they’ll do one thing, but then don’t.
  • I also get easily annoyed when I get woken up and I will promptly fall back asleep, regardless of my best (or worse) intentions.
  • People on the internet are weird. Proof 1: Making cozies for eggs. Proof 2: Making cozies for thermoses. Pointless and overpriced.
  • I’ve gotten a lot better at knitting while doing something else (i.e. texting, watching Dollhouse, reading articles online).
  • My psychology professor purposely puts giant photos that not resized on the slides on purpose in order to make the download time for set of slides be as long as humanly possible. 43mb is not an appropriate size for a Powerpoint presentation that only has 25 slides.
  • When in doubt, ask. When that doesn’t work, throw a fit. (Thanks to my sister for that lesson.)
  • My sister, because she is ill, plays a lot on her Nintendo DS while she stays home from work. This also means that she can go ‘OMG, it’s [insert Pokemon name here]!!’ when I show her a new pattern I find. I can’t even pronounce it and she can a) name it, b) tell me what it does and c) tell me what level hers is at.
  • People will make crochet and knit patterns for just about anything (read the one about the egg cozies, mmkay?). This includes swimwear. Even if it’s a really bad idea given that knitted and crocheted swimwear, when wet, won’t be doing a whole lot anymore.
  • If you do something with beads and a needle two nights ago (Thursday) and you’re pretty sure that you cleaned up everything and you don’t get a beading needle jabbed in yourself anywhere at all when you wake up Friday morning – this does not mean that you won’t wake up, in pain, on Saturday with a beading needle underneath a finger nail. Just saying.
  • Yarn needles are cheap for a reason. You buy a package of 3 and you will one day lose all three – even if you never take them out of your house and they always travel between two rooms and you’re absolutely sure you know exactly where they used to be… You will lose them. And you will try to ‘make’ one out of what you have a home to avoid leaving the house since you’re untangling a mess of yarn.
  • Some things are not appropriate to say on Twitter. Even if it’s really damn funny and you’ll go and read your TweetFeed and end up choking on your tea.
  • When a family member asks you if you want a kitten and then you eagerly say yes, the appropriate thing for that family member to say is “Oh, well So-and-so’s cat is having kittens, I’ll get one for you!” not “Why don’t you go to the pound then?”
  • Waiting for people to have time to talk to you is a waste of time, overall. And I’m not going to do it again.
