It’s the 100th episode and the wedding that you don’t want to miss.

And in other news… It’s Thursday! Which meant Grey’s night. No more Private Practice as the season finale was last week (the season finale for Grey’s is next week, it’s going to be two hours, I can’t wait!). And Thursday means that tomorrow is Friday and that means then it’s the weekend, yay! This week has seemed incredibly short, but oh well. Weekend! Which means… my dentist appointment (that my parents made for me and didn’t inform me of until two hours ago), volunteering, Mother’s Day and hopefully seeing the Boyfriend (right, Clay?).

I got dating advice at work from the most unlikely of pairs. A and D (not the nice one, but the one who has been nice thus far). They were giving me dating advice and the weird thing is that it wasn’t bad advice (however, it was all very common sense!). But still, weird. So I didn’t do much prior to lunch. Then I got sent to the other building because the guy I normally work with over there (let’s call him “C”) actually sent my boss an email saying that he wasn’t going to do something (… write a freaking document) because “there are many technical terms that I do not understand”. And he put it in writing of all things. In electronic form. To be forwarded or printed as my boss may wish to do. Oh boy. But yeah, so I got sent over to take notes (no photos – my boss didn’t tell me that he wanted photos until after I got back!) and I spent some time with someone new-to-me, J. He was really helpful and explained everything as best he could. So hopefully that’ll work out well tomorrow when I continue working on it. I also got ‘packages’ done for tomorrow’s meeting…  161 pages in total for all 7 copies (23 pages/package). We don’t like trees very much at work, as you can see. I may have pilfered some copies from other people as well. To prevent me from printing on even more paper.

But besides work… And getting teased by M over at the new building… And getting Skittles today (from you-know-who!)… Nothing much happened. It’s been a pretty okay week. Decent deadlines for work and whatnot so I don’t have too much to do as I can’t do much until after the meeting on Friday (which is at 1pm and expected to “only take an hour”… I doubt that very much). So I’ll probably get started on the bulk of the work on Monday. Which will hopefully be lasting me for quite a while. Cheers to data entry.

And last, but not least, I have a new fanlisting up! It’s for the song “Miss California” by Jack’s Mannequin and the fanlisting is called Misplacing My Affections.

Bored with… everything. (Sort of.) https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/05/04/bored-with-everything-sort-of/ https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/05/04/bored-with-everything-sort-of/#comments Tue, 05 May 2009 02:37:34 +0000 http://imaginarysunshine.com/?p=2281 My biology mark isn’t up yet. It’s been a little over two weeks… Granted, regular midterms take about a month just to get back to the class. But still, marks have to get in relatively soon since my school goes through academic records to hand out year standings by the end of the month. So there’s that. My official psychology mark isn’t up yet either. But it’s on my prof’s website. So I at least know what my grade is going to look like at the end of the day. Unlike my biology grade (Dr. H, if you’re reading this – I want my final grade, many thanks!). But I suppose I can wait a little bit longer… Maybe until the end of the week. Before I email my professor and ask what’s the hold up.

Work went well. People who come by my cubicle are generally going towards someone else’s office, not mine. Mostly because half of them are just all like “Oh hai there, you’re back!” P and J suggested that I bring in a poster of a band from home and post it up to cover up some of the random stuff that’s already up there. That’s ignoring the fact that I don’t actually own any band posters… I’m kind of an awesome fan of everything, haha. I do have a Grey’s Anatomy calendar though! I might put that up in my cubicle. Because it’s got Grey’s characters. I have no clue who’s in it for May, but that’s okay. Maybe I’ll put up a giant photo of a cat up or something. Or I’ll just put up random photos of things. I’m not sure. Have any suggestions for my boring cubicle?

In other news… Well there is no other news. There’s something wrong when all I can talk about is the lack of grades form school and about my cubicle… Oh well, such is life. Shall figure something else to fill up my time this summer. Still working consistently on my other sites (sort of), but everything kind of fell to the wayside once work started since that just takes up so much time out of a day and then after I get home, there’s not a whole lot that I actually want to do anymore.

Oh wait, there is news! Can’t believe I almost forgot to mention that yesterday, after my two hours of volunteering (which went very well!), I met up with K and we spent some time together at a local park. We watched this poor female duck getting chased by a few male ones and joked about how the birds and the bees would be explained to a child after watching a display like that. But it was fun and it was nice seeing her since I hadn’t spent any time with her in a long while… Same with a lot of other friends, guess it’s time to make plans with people and fill up my weeknights and weekends, eh?

There’s never a wish better than this https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/05/01/theres-never-a-wish-better-than-this/ https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/05/01/theres-never-a-wish-better-than-this/#comments Sat, 02 May 2009 03:37:46 +0000 http://imaginarysunshine.com/?p=2271 @ Kristi – I probably won’t end up decorating it too much since it’s a) surrounded by random boxes of old computer parts, b) the walls [where I could pin things up] are partially covered with other documents and c) I spend a third of my time over at the other building, a third downstairs and a third in my cubicle.

And today is the end of my first work week for the year. I finished up all the paperwork for payroll today, got access to almost everything that I need access too. I also spent most of the day roaming around a building that I am not familiar with at all. And as a result, a lot of people were asking who I was and if I was supposed to be there. I texted Clay later saying that I really ought to make a shirt going “Yes, I work here and yes, I’m [my mom]’s daughter”. It really would make life a whole lot easier. Because I get a lot of “Do you work here?” and “Are you [my mom]’s daughter?” So even if my supervisor calls ahead to get the okay for me to roam around and observe, people still question my presence. Someone thought I was trespassing, until I saw someone that I knew and got them to vouch for me. At least they’re diligent? I also froze my computer by accident by having too many Word documents open. I have to remember that the computer I’m using is fairly ancient and can’t handle having more than five documents (without photos) open at a time. And then I get home and I’ve currently got… Thunderbird, Firefox, Windows Media Player, 7 MSN chat windows and Photoshop open. And it’s not even slow… But whatever… I get paid to wait for files to load, whoot?

My sister’s gone for the weekend, which leaves me with my parents… Yay? But Wolverine came out today, so I’m going to see if I can find anyone who’d like to see it with me. Marvel comics characters in another movie? Count me in! (I am such a dork.) My sister wanted to see it with me, but she’s off on a freaking mountain for two days. So I don’t really care all that much that she wanted to see it too. I have volunteering on Sunday for two hours, I have to find the person that I’m reporting to – too bad I have no clue what she looks like… So that should be interesting. Plus, I’ll actually get some exercise by walking the three blocks it takes to get there (since my bus pass officially ran out yesterday). And it’s supposed to rain on Sunday? … I think I have an umbrella somewhere, which will be super helpful in avoiding that ‘drowned’ look that is so not in season. No clue what I’m doing for the rest of the weekend though. I know tonight Dollhouse is on, so there is that. But that’s Friday. I might just head out to the library and chill for a while in those nice comfy (probably fake) leather seats. Ransack their crafts section again, perhaps. Not having a life on the weekend? … Not that much of a change.

Hope you all have a great weekend! At least better than mine is forecasted to be (well, besides the volunteering). And that you had an excellent Friday.

Today’s title comes for “100 Years” by  Five For Fighting.

Cubicle *goddess* https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/30/cubicle-goddess/ https://imaginarysunshine.com/index.php/2009/04/30/cubicle-goddess/#comments Fri, 01 May 2009 02:10:11 +0000 http://imaginarysunshine.com/?p=2269 @ Kelsey – prior to my (yay!) cubicle dwellings, I was forced to wait for the people that I share a room with to be done with their computers. Or wait until they went off to meetings. And, obviously, that would inefficient. Last year, that’s what I did for the entire summer. Back in 2007, I had my own computer (plus I did reception, so there was that computer as well). Now I’ve got a cubicle with a massive desk, a chair that can barely move between the desk and the wall and a blank bulletin board (which lacks thumbtacks/pins). I also have a phone! Which also works! However, I have no clue what my extension is, just that there’s 7 messages on the phone and I have no clue how to check it – even though none of them would be for me. But there’s still messages! I checked in the drawers – whoever used it prior to me did not clean out their stuff. There’s lots of half-used Post-It pads, a few rolls of tape, some papers, and this weird stand thing (that holds documents up with a ruler thing).

So, I’m now a ‘cubicle goddess’, as an, erm, interesting coworker called me today – once he discovered my cubicle dwellings. Which is an interesting assessment. But people have discovered where I am in the building now, which is really fun. Especially when people go “… Michelle? Is that you?” And they have this look of “oh my cheese, is that you?” (I have no idea where I picked up “oh my cheese” from, I’m pretty sure it’s from volunteering though. It’s either cheese or ‘goodness gracious’.) Life is interesting in the form of a cubicle. Of course, tomorrow I’ll be racking up some driving experience going from Building A to B and then back to A again once before heading home. My bag is going to be full of food for tomorrow… Building B always seems to make me hungry, I have no clue what it is about that building that is so hunger-inducing.

But enough about work… It’s rather sad when I start work and all my entries start being about work. Hopefully weekend entries change that, hehe. So how has your week been so far? Work going well? School going stellar? Everything going excellent?
