I’m currently sitting at a table that’s facing the window (which happens to be right outside of the large lecture theatre where I have my psychology lecture). And it happens to be raining. And by “raining”, I mean it’s pouring and only ducks and other water fowl could even be remotely pleased with the weather today. Because I am not a duck (quack!) or any other sort of water-loving thing (Creature? Organism? Spawn of the devil?), I’m indoors and not outdoors. It probably also has to do with the fact that I’m wearing runners today and not boots.

But that’s not important. The weather, as important as it is to everything on Earth, is not important. What is important is the fact that I have now redeemed myself in my English prof’s eyes. She even commented to me personally when most of the class was already gone (she had our papers organized in alphabetical order and I’m in the second half of the alphabet) that she “just knew” that I could do better. And I did! Fortunately this paper was worth 20% of my final grade, I got a B on it. And filled in the entire back of my last page with comments. My paper was a pleasure to read and she loved the insight that I had on the poems that I decided on, however I seem to have issues with grammar. This was kind of a “What. The. Fuck.” moment, until I looked over what sort of corrections and comments she made throughout the paper. She threw in like ten “However,” in front of ten sentences. Now I know for my final paper: Use ‘However’ in front of a sentence whenever remotely correct, even if it’ll end up being overused (she wrote it so that there’d be three sentences in a row starting with ‘However, …’. Oh boy. However, good for word count though, so I might adopt that practice into my NaNoing.
