That sounds ugly. I hope you did fairly in the exam anyway – it sounded really painful from the other students’ reactions. I wish you all the best in your final exam!

1. If you’re in school, what are you doing your summer term/break?
I’m on a study break now, which ends in less than a week. I have to pull my assignments together for the week back. D:
2. What is one thing that made your day today?
A compliment from a friend; she was proud that I did some work and didn’t just fool around on the internet. Dx

Scheduling in my schedule

Best of luck and hope it all goes to plan. πŸ˜€ I like the idea of “fining” yourself. Personally I like to be threatened by friends for motivation. I actually briefly mentioned it on one of my blog posts. Dx

I don’t really mind spending time on campus but some days, depending on my mood, I really, really want to go home ASAP. In high school I always wanted to stay back or go early. That was a bit insane. O_o

Sometimes I do, on really bad days. πŸ™ I actually really like being alone and spending time with myself without other people worrying or noticing me. <3

Buying clothes because I can’t just walk around naked (duh).

Ooh congratulations on the new job, by the way!

When I worked in an office I was wearing suits and skirts because my mum told me to leave a good impression. Then I started wearing some nice tops and dresses. My boss was almost always dressed in just a t-shirt and jeans, and she did mention the wear was smart casual and more so casual on Fridays.

I used to love wearing jeans and pants but now I’ve really taken a liking to dresses and skirts.

I love the leafyish pattern! I don’t think patterns look too good on me though. I love the black and white dress, sounds like a bargain! And mid-thigh length dresses are definitely more my thing… I think knee length garments make me look short. O-o

Double rainbows and other fun things

St Patrick’s day… I was at home on the day! I had no idea green beer existed. Pretty amusing that some people took notes on that. I remembered the next day. 😐

I love the rainbow; it’s a gorgeous picture. πŸ™‚

2011 is a long way away. It sounds nasty. I remember the people next door to us building the house, but I don’t think I was too bothered by it.

Busy bee on a sunny Saturday

The stitches just sound really painful. Especially in the mouth. :O With any teeth I lost growing up, I was way too scared to chew anywhere near the space my new tooth would be growing in – I knew it would be painful.

Both my mum and brother have glasses but when they get a new pair they don’t always get a new case. But they have a few at home anyway. My mum is more interested in the glasses than the case… πŸ˜›

I’m not really into hoodies. I’ve had a few, but the last ones I bought happened to be over three years ago. I have bought a dress with a little hood but not an actual hoodie. I don’t really like them. πŸ˜›

I visited the orthodontist every month when I had my braces, and I still go there every now and then to check up on my retainer. My orthodontist remembers my name. O_O; He even asks me how I’m going after I haven’t seen him for a year. Dx

1. Do you ever go shopping in thrift stores? (If yes, what sort of things do you look for?)
Yes… though we don’t call them thrift stores here. I usually look for records/vinyl.
2. Do you wear glasses or contacts? If no, do you need them?
No. I got a checkup a few months ago. My mum was shocked that my vision was perfect… the guy who checked my eyes said that my eyes weren’t bad at all. My mum’s always suspected my eyes would need vision correction.
3. If you were stranded on a deserted island and someone came along and offered you one of two desserts (coconut cream pie or chocolate cream pie), which would you choose and why?
Chocolate cream pie. Allergic to coconuts. ;_;

Wisdomless – Part 2

Your teeth must have been really stubborn. O_O I had some teeth taken out to have braces but the experience wasn’t so bad. They provided me with a bit of gauze too, but not a whole bag. At the time I really wanted a bag.

I didn’t like the feeling of gauze in my mouth but I didn’t like the blood going all over my tongue either, so I preferred to have it there. I had one tooth taken out on each side so it was hell trying to chew with my incisors. XP

Now my wisdom teeth are coming down on both sides and it hurts to chew on both sides. -_-

Snap-happy in Vancouver, BC

Oh, he didn’t have feelings for me. We were just friends. Maybe I sounded confusing. O-o

The cauldron looks great. :O I really like the polar bear display though. I’ve not been keeping track of the Olympics but I watched part of the Olympics opening ceremony. It was sad hearing about the athlete who passed away. πŸ™

Those signs are amusing, but I guess they serve as a warning… perhaps it’s just a general message to everyone since it can get crowded. I’ve always wanted to go to Canada, though, because it seems like a nice place and I’d like to experience snow somewhere outside of Australia. πŸ™‚

Pissed, based on principle

Uuugh. Wrong card to play. -_-

You were being really helpful, and that was really unnecessary. You’re an adult and can take care of yourself, especially in your own town/city. A lot of incidences of rape and kidnapping involve girls but some people… O_o

Who doesn’t want to learn about photosynthesis?

This really amused me for the full 8:47. I have to admit that it got a bit boring and repetitive (melody wise) but this is pretty smart. I don’t think any of it stuck though… I seem to have lost interest in biology. But I recall the photons from physics…!

I always thought that singing things in songs was a good way of remembering them. πŸ˜›

Rambling on guest blogging and brazen thieves

I know someone who had a guest blogger – Caity of, who I assume you know. πŸ™‚ It was nice having an entry by Josh, and very interesting too.

I don’t understand why people would get so “into” guest blogging though. I know on several occasions in 2008, I wanted to blog every day but I wasn’t able to, and I got grounded (lol) for some time, so I got James to post a few blogs for me. But when someone has their own blog and some dedicated visitors who visit for what they post, having guest bloggers every day will most likely have you lose visitors. It’s just the way I see it. It’s interesting, but too much of anything is not good.

Ah well, if people aren’t being original, I see it as their loss, whether they’re lazy or not. Being lazy isn’t an excuse. It’s a shame but in the end they’re the ones at loss. Fancy those authors just linking to Flickr!

I’m sure we have security cameras at uni, but everyone is so nice and friendly and you can just put so much trust in people to mind your belongings while you hop off to the toilet, or even while you fall asleep on the couch with your bag next to you. I like the environment. :’)

Little vent

I think I remember you telling me that your dad was unfamiliar with the drag-and-drop concept. πŸ˜›

In a way I think my dad is the same – he doesn’t know how to copy and paste something from a computer to an external disk… or anywhere, for that matter. I tend to get angry at him but I guess I feel a little grateful that he isn’t persisting like your dad. Your dad needs some video tutorials or something, haha. I think you should tell him to press F1 in Photoshop next time, despite what he says. You might explain well, but he should be grateful that you took the time to explain things to him!

February! February!

Ooh, I can’t wait to see the new theme for February. πŸ˜€

Earbuds are always so expensive here. I haven’t had portable music for long, though. For a while I had a CD walkman thing that I chose to lug around all the time, and I had headphones rather than earphones. While everyone else was getting the cool iPods and whatnot, I wasn’t even allowed. πŸ˜›

Now that I have an iPhone I don’t mind the white earphones so much. But prior to giving my brother my iPod touch (with the earphones), I noticed that they already got a bit dirty. I don’t know why but that makes me feel a little sad. :S

I always disgusted people telling them the fact that snails take 12 hours to have sex (to put it bluntly). I do hope that’s true… otherwise I have been telling people the wrong thing. XD

I’ve always been disgusted by snails myself though. πŸ˜›

Can you be jealous of someone you’ve never met?

I can understand where you’re coming from, but seeing as you’ve not met this cousin, I don’t know how I would feel in that situation. I have met all my cousins and because they live overseas and are really very poor, sometimes my mum helps pay for their school fees or lends them money for other important purposes.

My parents are pretty tight on money. I buy the littlest something, for hobbies, even with my own money, and they make judgment (usually bad). “It’s too expensive”, “You don’t need that”, etc.

But this jealousy you feel is normal, in my opinion. I think you sure as hell work your butt off for yourself, you could do with a bit of help too, I guess. I don’t know if your cousin is poor. If so, no need for the jealousy, though. xD

In response to your comment – haha. I would have liked to name them, but I didn’t want their parents to get more involved in case she had seen the blog. I think they are pretty n00b about domains though, which is why I didn’t bother suggesting WhoIs protection! πŸ˜› I liked laughing at the thought… yes, a little immature. πŸ˜›

Zoology labs are love! (sort of)

We do get quite a long uni break! I got about one week, three times a year, off from uni. Then there’s this long break which is three months from Dec-Mar. O_o

What a shame about the microscopes. You would have expected my high school to be in that condition too, seeing as we were very poor, but we had pretty good ones.

It’s good to know when you know your fees are going to something useful! Congratulations on completing that application. πŸ˜€

I should be flattered, but I’m really not

LOL. The person who wrote that email sounds strangely like someone else I know online who likes to make jewellery. A young immature one. XD

I used to really like making jewellery but my beads weren’t amazing and I just made simple bracelets with simple beads in… simple patterns. I still have a huge bag of clear plastic beads. I attempted to make beaded bags at some point, but lost the patience. πŸ™

People should realise that WOW, just because you can afford something for yourself doesn’t mean you’re going to share. πŸ˜› Sounds mean, but it’s completely reasonable. At least they weren’t rude about asking but that was pretty “in-your-face”.

Plus or minus 10 years

I love your new layout! Such pretty colours!

I think ten years ago I was into toys and dolls and whatnot. I can’t quite remember. Ten years is a little bit too far (and uninteresting) for me to remember. But it was probably when I started showing an interest in computers and kiddish computer games. Makes my life seem short. πŸ˜›

I hope to be married 10 years from now, if not engaged. πŸ˜‰ I’ll be… nearly 29? I sort of hope to have moved out by then, and hopefully I’ll have a dog as part of my family.

I don’t remember much so I can’t really say how I’ve changed. I’m probably a little more confident and crazy. I’m still shy around some people… mostly family.

Musings for Saturday – studying & gift searching

Holy. Cow. 16 per side? Bijeebus. My brother is a whiz at the Rubik’s cube. He’s younger than me and I think I am jealous. XD I wish I could do it in 56 seconds like the hell he can… urgh. I think he can nearly do it blindfolded.

My brother is out for a “real” Rubik’s cube. He tells me the difference because there are some that are put together crappily, and the way it’s designed, it isn’t really easy to twist around and whatever.

Some time ago I deleted a hostee who didn’t update for well over six months!

A treeless house

Last year our family didn’t put up our tree. Couldn’t be bothered. Our tree is usually more decoration than tree – my mum LOVES decorations. There’s no stopping her buying multiple angels to put on the top.

We don’t go out and chop down trees. I don’t think it’s allowed here… we just buy trees from the shops. Fake ones. πŸ˜€

Our family isn’t big on lights. We used to have colourful lights to put on the tree but they looked tacky. We only have a tree – we don’t decorate the outside of our house like other houses in our street.

I think I missed two lectures this semester before I finished. I was late once and I didn’t feel like going so I went and read through the lecture notes instead. They didn’t really help πŸ™

The other time I got into a fight with James (gah…) and I didn’t want to just walk off and go to my lecture. Thankfully I didn’t miss anything important; our last assignment was already due by that time so I didn’t want to attend. *blushes*

I skipped so many last semester though… NOT good. D:

But for my last couple of assignments I’ve been getting very good grades so I believe I’ll do better than last sem. XD

What’s 5’1″ and falls down stairs?

Title caught my eye. I’m one inch taller than you! :O (5 foot 2.) I’m glad I don’t have stairs in my house. I actually am not really that clumsy, but I tend to trip over ‘nothing’ sometimes.

1. How often do you go to thrift stores? What do you often look for?
Every month or so. I look for records most of the time, sometimes jewellery (not always in good condition though).
2. What book are you currently reading that is not β€˜required’ reading (i.e. for school)?
Umum… um… I believe I am not reading anything? Last thing I read was And Another Thing… by Eoin Colfer.
3. What is your favourite flower?
Rose, probably. :3

Cute, but odd

It’s the 2nd today, but yesterday when I went to the city I passed someone selling ribbons. I was in a rush so I came back later but he was gone. πŸ™

It’s good to know you are missed as well! Perhaps too, your “weirdness”? πŸ˜›

I have a 2GB SD card, and I’m sure it was cheap, but I can’t quite remember how much. I hope you find a bargain!

Retail therapy and ‘dressing my age’

I’ve never really been told to dress my age or have someone make comments on my cute-printed t-shirts. It is nice of people to be honest though.

I don’t really dress my age either – I’m still a bit on the teen side of things. Sometimes I like wearing boots and a dress and just something neater and less casual – it’s a bit hard to explain. But hey, I like my cute little tees and hoodie with a cute monkey on it. I look pretty young for my age as it is… but I just wear what is comfortable and looks nice. Perhaps if someone actually told me I should wear something different, I’ll take it into consideration, but no one has as of yet (my mum simply thinks my style is unusual and strange).

False sense of productivity

I always say “made soup” even if it was just from an instant packet. LOL.

Ooft, it’s so uncomfortable when you feel the need to crack an arm or something, and it just won’t crack. I always sleep on my side though, or at least partially on my side. I hope you wake up tomorrow with less pain. πŸ™‚

6 little things

La Vie En Rose – is that the song or the film? I adore the song!

I remember your second quote from a layout of yours. πŸ˜€

I love PS. I Love You. It’s such a sweet movie! And the book was really good as well. :3

I kinda forgot about the existence of December…

Happy belated birthday! :3

I used to make presents for people… I don’t have many close friends so that cuts down on costs. But lately I’ve just been running out of ideas of things to make. :/

That sucks that your exams finish so close to Christmas. My dance exams were like that, but school ones always seemed a significantly long way from Christmas.

1. How β€˜ready’ are you in terms of Christmas (or your winter holiday of choice) present shopping/decorating?
Not at all. XD I’m terrible with Christmas presents.
2. What is one thing that you’re looking forward to?
I’m not sure – I’m enjoying my holiday now but I feel like there is nothing exciting happening. Since summer is coming… some excitement should come with it.
3. What is the last book that you’ve read? Would you recommend it?
“And Another Thing…” by Eoin Colfer. It is the sixth book in Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series (he passed in 2001). It’s quite good, but it’s lengthy and drags on. The ending is good – a rather smart ending considering the series, but slightly unexpected.
4. What is one site that you like to go to for procrastination purposes?
Hmm… Tumblr. I follow a lot of people there, and just like browsing interesting posts. πŸ˜›

Feeling like s*it, so I ate a cake

I hope you feel better soon. πŸ™ I don’t really indulge in food for comfort but I’m more of a chocolate person than a cake person (but I love frosting!). I hope you aren’t too sick from the cake. *hugs*

Rain, rain, go away

Eeek, what sucky weather, only to stop after you got inside. Grr. It has been rather warm here. πŸ˜€

That’s so cool that your profs dressed up last year. I sort of wish Halloween was celebrated more here.

Hurrah, candy! πŸ˜€ Good for your happiness every once in a while (not health, obviously :P).

Sleep, sleep, glorious sleep

LOL, poor S! At least her parents have put a stop to it. πŸ˜›

I have become the worst procrastinator lately. Just been cruising and leaving things. My due dates are far and there isn’t much I can do now, but what I can do, I’m putting off. -_-

I skip breakfast sometimes during the week but when I hop to uni I’m sure to buy something. I can usually live without breakfast but I must have a snack or some lunch. πŸ™‚

What annoys me is that sometimes I feel quite sick in the mornings if I move around too much.

» Posted By Georgina On October 28, 2009 @ 3:54 am

There’s a pill for everything

Wow. This was a really… a good story. I mean, I love the way you told it, Michelle. πŸ™‚

This girl was pretty stupid. I’d understand if you needed to take ONE pill or drink a bit of coffee during the day to keep you up, but that many is just too much, especially if you’re not having water. I don’t know how you could live without it, even if you’re just having a gulp every now and then. O_O

Well, I am glad she’s okay; she did seem like a nice person after all.

1. How much caffeine do you regularly consume? What form is it in?
Extremely rarely. Usually I have soda or coffee from time to time, but I really don’t like the taste of coffee.
2. What’s the funniest text message that you’ve received in the last week?
“OMG… I found my phone in a hole in my couch… FML” From Lilian after she lost her phone and got a new one. πŸ˜›
3. Have you, or someone you know, ever abused non-prescription drugs by accident or on purpose?
My friend overdosed on Panadol (paracetamol, I think? It’s just a painkiller). She took 72 pills at once. She’d tried to kill herself. She was in hospital for quite some time; she’d wrecked her liver (not quite sure; you’re the biology student here! ^^).
I did take a pill once when I didn’t even feel very sick at all.

I wanna see the sun rising anywhere but here

Ahhh well we haven’t had any notice about the essay as of yet, so I’ll have to see. πŸ™‚

Congratulations on the 80%! It’s a great mark; I’d be happy with that for a few of my subjects. My grades always fluctuate because I do a hell of a lot better (90%) in some sections of the assignments than others (“unsatisfactory”).

Your timetable looks a little squished to me! I would really dislike the night sessions.

Best of luck with the midterm and the quiz. I just cannot work well with someone watching me. I get distracted, by them. DX

I’m cleaning my room today. πŸ™‚ Internet is being pretty dodgy, so I’m filling the time in, sort of.
