Why don’t you… distract me or something?

Oh, strange! I put my essay into Turnitin and they actually didn’t let me look at my score until it was fully processed, and it wasn’t allowed to be edited. :S Ah well, I think I worried way too much because it came out with 6%, 3% of which was actually, coincidentally, other students’ work from 2006. Not to worry though; at least it wasn’t a substantial amount. πŸ˜›

I hope you start feeling better soon! I actually try to attend work and school even if I am sick. I feel bad for doing so, but attendance is actually quite important to me! If I’m good enough to move and walk around then I’ll still go.

Haha oh dear, the poor soul who wasted his money on tutoring and didn’t do so well. My friend deems it a theory that tutors make you do worse. I guess that guy just has to accept that he probably isn’t that great anyway. XD

I haven’t watched Supersize Me but I believe I’d be grossed out by it.

Get some rest! Hope things clear up in the morning. πŸ˜€

Most of my domains are hosted with Kya at (and she’s hosted by Surpass). There are a few (like Woodnotes) that happened to be hosted elsewhere. Woodnotes was connected to a reseller so that was why it was different. I’m happy that most of them are in the same place though. πŸ˜€

I remember making those slides way back… I was pretty hopeless. πŸ˜› I do love that photo though, it’s so clear and precise.

Oh, how it would suck to have an exam or test right after a lecture. Good thing you got a later time. πŸ˜€

I really do not think that nine pages and that amount of questions could be done in an hour. What a struggle. Exams that are a couple of hours long are much better because you can take your time. You might end up with time left but it’s a lot better than trying to squeeze all that in! πŸ™

Je t’aime

Awww. I have to say, right before reading this post, I felt exactly the same. I miss James a great deal.

That is really sweet. :’)

When it rains, it pours.

Ugh, what terrible weather. Reminds me of when it started raining halfway to work, and when I got off the train it was pouring. I had a jacket made out of that weird waterproofy material but it had been kind of ruined when I got home. :S

I’m sorry you miss everyone and have so much going on. *hugs* Sometimes things just happen unexpectedly and you feel a bit stuffed. Hopefully the days become clearer and things tie themselves up. πŸ™‚

I don’t watch those dance shows, and when they’re on in Australia I barely watch them. I might watch during dinner or something. I am usually pretty impressed by the dancers though. Being a dancer myself, I guess it makes me kind of miss it!

Television commercials always bug me. When my tapes/records something, he cuts out the breaks so we can pretty much watch it in peace. So much effort. :O

I hope the school server stops acting up. I felt like that when my internet was slow – all I wanted was the slides too. XD

Michelle, the chemistry student that… could?

LOL, I love how your “October 8” (in brackets) had turned into a smiley face. 8)

I saw a photograph of a human-sized mushroom, but of course seeing a large mushroom in real life would be more interesting.

I really don’t like theory-based stuff, but good luck in that midterm!

I’m an impulse buyer sometimes, but I haven’t invested my money in anything so pricey. I would like an iPhone but I haven’t really looked further into the plans and such.

1. What is the last thing/person/event that made you feel overwhelmed?
I’m on a uni break now so I guess the week before this break I had a lot of assignments due.
2. What’s the last little indulgence purchase that you made for yourself?
Possibly a domain; I really don’t think I bought anything else.
3. What is something happy that you’ve got right now in your life?
I guess James makes me happy all the time! πŸ˜›

For just one night

That is really beautiful! Shame it wasn’t for longer. It reminds me of this other plant I saw in a movie (don’t recall the plant’s name) but it blooms only one in its life… πŸ™‚

It doesn’t look too bad when its wilted though!

What is your favourite plant (flowering, non-flowering, doesn’t really matter)?
Like you I like daisies; I haven’t come across many though. I like roses as well.

How much gardening do you do, if any?
Not much. We have a lot of flowers in the garden though! πŸ˜›

What kind of camera do you use? (Somewhat random, I realize.)
It’s a Kodak C653 I think… looking at the camera itself.

When a man and a woman love each other very much…

He’s only around five years old. We have some autistic children who attend the centre; the parents fully aware of their child’s disability and was able to notify us of it. I am thinking this boy is just not too good at English. If I remember correctly he was born here. Yes, the parents are Asian… it might be a case of them teaching him some of the language and getting confused. O_o

Hahahha. Juno is such a great movie. The character Juno was one that I really liked.

I have never actually thought about what might happen should I become pregnant at this age or even soon, but there would be the case of my parents being extremely, undeniably disappointed in me. I’m sure James would stay with me, but the main thing would be the parents. For myself, I would probably have the baby and keep it, but I would be disappointed because I know it would get in the way of work, uni, etc. πŸ™

I would love to have children though. :3

What I’ve learned (so far this term)

Like Kim said… my bad for not dropping by. *trembles* Do forgive me!

I use Avast! I think the exclamation point is supposed to be part of the name. I forgot. It does a superb job though. When I visit a site and it has a virus, it makes a siren noise and this voice says, “A virus has been detected!” I have been trying to keep my laptop clean and neat though. But my My Pictures folder… gosh, why do I mess that up all the time? XP

I think the lists are a good idea to summarise your blogs. Though, I like typing, so I prefer to write in small paragraphs, I guess. πŸ˜›

The wireless at uni is crap, full stop. Although last semester I remember being in this TERRIBLE room where the wireless cut out very often, and sometimes I could not connect. It was in an underground room with no windows and deep within the building – that might explain it.

I don’t know profs who stay up late. It seems that my tutors are early morning people, though.

Good luck with those reviews and studying! πŸ™‚ Fortunately I am on “study break”. πŸ˜›

“First lectures” – done!

Haha last time I tried running a site with someone I knew online, it totally died. πŸ˜› I think this will be domain #11 – close enough!

Ooh I want to see those funky socks! That reminds me of these opaque stockings/tights that I bought, which have little music notes all over. I had to buy more pairs so I got a stripy pair and a pair with skulls and a pair with dogs. πŸ˜€

I love the look of those crocheted cupcakes! Just noticed them on your Flickr stream. πŸ™‚

I’ve never had anything worth so much as 65%. I recently handed in an assignment that was worth 30%. I am getting used to handing in things that are worth a lot, because I don’t get that many assignments in a subject. I have an essay this semester due 50% – it’s the highest weighting I’ve encountered yet. D:

One day more

Aw, one more day. πŸ™ Hopefully you’ll still get to bump into the lovely people you met. I think that’s the good thing about having a job and doing this sort of thing; you meet a lot of nice people.

My parents wanted me to find extra work in my holidays but I didn’t want to. I work as well as going to uni, so it keeps me going well financially, even if my parents support me as well.

Spending Sunday with the sisters

With interest?! :O

Aw, you had a little someone expecting a post from you! Strange though, maybe they were a little worried. My cutting scars have faded too. πŸ™‚

To me it seems that elderly people don’t really like the young. My friends and I had a school excursion and part of it was to the beach, even if we were just walking down the beach to observe, and not to swim. My friends walked in the sea without shoes but unfortunately a big wave came by and wet the bottoms of their skirts. Some of us were just walking around with no shoes on, and the teachers didn’t mind. Then these elderly ladies walked by and stared at the lot of us and shook their heads in… disgust.

Actually, that was the time we went to see a Shakespearean play as well. πŸ˜›

I can’t wait to see the crocheted cupcakes! :9 Om nom nom. I’m sure your workmates will love them! :3

Happy happy happy

Haha I just read that last blog of yours… reminds me of when some random guy (ugly picture included) added me to MSN and said “I want to be your friend (F)” … yeah, with the flower emoticon. 😐

Awww, that’s so sweet! I’m glad you had a lovely time with Clay. πŸ™‚

Haha, that would be a cute textbook to look at all the time. :3

With my university fees, my parents pay a 500 dollar deposit each semester and the rest gets deferred, so when I get a job with tax or something, much later in the future, they gradually take it from my account. It’s quite convenient.

I want to see the Pink Panther your sister is making. I bet it’s really cute!

1. When is the last time you bought any craft supplies? (What was it?)
Hmm… a year ago or so, maybe. I think I was buying some wool to make pom poms.
2. What movie are you looking forward to (that has not come out yet) that’s coming out in 2008?
I would like to see “Away We Go” since I saw the trailer online. It comes out here in September.
3. What are some happy songs that you like (and would recommend)?
Johnny B Goode – Chuck Berry. That one makes me dance… and so does You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing. Oldies. πŸ™‚

» Posted By Georgina On August 29, 2009 @ 7:23 pm

Are you a brainiac? I know who isn’t one!

Aww! I still like the name Michelle. In my parents’ baby name book, they had a list of popular baby names and they included Sarah and Jessica. And yes, I’m kind of glad my parents put thought into my name. :3

» Posted By Georgina On August 27, 2009 @ 7:16 pm

Oh what a terrible annoying man. I absolutely despise arrogant people, and if anything, that whole 40 by 4 thing… yes, he needs to get his head checked. :O And I most certainly wouldn’t be taking his word about all this genius crap at all.

It reminds me of this girl who attends the place I work; she’s absolutely awful at basic subtraction. Simple things like 300-50, or 345-45… she gets it all wrong. *facepalm*

I probably need to set myself to a timetable or something, because I am just terrible at organising my time now. πŸ™

1. What is the most expensive thing that you’ve paid for recently that you had to pay for?
Hmm… uni fees, I suppose.
2. What was the highlight of your day? (Actual highlight or sarcastic one, like my own)
I ate tacos. It was really probably the most satisfying thing I’ve done today.
3. If you’re still in school… When is your first day back? (And if you’re on a different term system than I am, when’s your last day of the term?)
I’m back at uni, and there’s a weekly break sometime in September but the semester ends in November or so.
4. What is one thing that you’re looking forward to from September to December?
Finishing my first year at uni, I suppose. XD

Work-a-lot Bear* & Buzzy W.A.S.P. update**

What’s the buzz? That’s not funny! πŸ™

I think some of my second cousins are actually older than me. The age gap is quite funny.

My brother would probably say something like what your mother said. My dad tends to be a bit strange sometimes and my brother says something along the lines of, “Yeah but only you think that and you are wrong”.

Family dinner, lazy Sunday and W.A.S.P. part deux

Ooh, I love the new layout. It’s pretty! I attempted to use a dandelion in my layout a few times but haven’t quite got it right. Hehe.

That is a super awesome way of getting rid of the wasps, I must say. πŸ˜€ I would never have thought of that.

I don’t think I remember anything from biology at school. Aw, no hope. πŸ˜› I really like trivia but like you I’m not really a sports fan.

I never got pocket money when I was younger. My parents didn’t make me pay for anything but they’re making me more aware of what I’m spending and that I shouldn’t be spending too much.

Too bad, I just bought McDonalds for brunch. D:

Work blues…

That is such a cute desk! Love the post-its. I don’t know why but the different coloured keyboard and monitor stand out to me. πŸ˜›

I hope the move isn’t too annoying.

I have a bit of the same problem at work, trying to read the children’s 6’s and 0’s. I used to write my nines so they had a curly tail rather than a straight one (if you know what I mean); it was a bit difficult to get the hang of while keeping it neat at the same time.

Good bye, July. Hello, August!

I hope you have fun with Clay!

Belarus is a lovely name. Your dad shouldn’t freak out over you buying with your own money!

It’s so cold over here, I need a blanket all the time. It’s hard to believe it’s supposed to be warm over there.

My mum finally let me out without my dad. I think it was just a spur of the moment thing or something. πŸ™‚

Busy like a bee

Haha yeah, that was a bit weird. They have other activities on their server, so I don’t see why. πŸ˜› The Facebook quiz only had seven questions anyway; it was on metadata standards. XD

I can’t remember the model of my laptop (haha) but it looks a bit like this:

» Posted By Georgina On July 27, 2009 @ 6:16 pm

My boss does that! She calls the little children “pumpkin”, “love”, “sweetheart” – I just think pumpkin is the strangest. :S

I hope you can think of a name for your doll! I’d give suggestions but I’m a bit hopeless at names. πŸ˜›

Before I clicked the second picture, I thought it was just a random ball… We have those here, but ours are red and yellow, I think. And they have flags at the top.

1. What have you been up to this weekend?
I got a haircut. XD
2. What’s the last thing that you spend money on?
Umm… It wasn’t my own money. But I spent it on the haircut.
3. What is one endearment that has been used for you before, but is very rarely used?
Hmm. “Darl” maybe?

Musings for the weekend

I never have plans for the weekend. Well, lately, in my seven week holiday (and I go back to uni on Monday), I have sat at my computer pretty much all the time. It’s a horrible habit. I really want something to do. D:

I think you probably have more of a life than I do, though. I hope you fit in that shopping! πŸ™‚

I use WP Spam free and it gets rid of most spam. I don’t like how it sometimes thinks my friends’ comments are spam. πŸ˜›

“Traveler” has always looked so weird to me. I was watching The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the title just didn’t look right. XD

» Posted By Georgina On July 25, 2009 @ 5:59 am

Les Miserables!

Haha when I go to work, I leave about 5 minutes before I start. It’s kind of risky. We live pretty close but with one traffic light in the way, it can cause a tiny delay!

Mm, I haven’t seen a play in a while. I like watching operas; haven’t seen one since last year so I might have to start saving up and everything. πŸ˜›

For me, doing something productive means… something on the computer. D:

Oh, and that picture on your last blog, haha. I don’t know how you managed to do that, but we have a fork that somehow got like that. :S

» Posted By Georgina On July 13, 2009 @ 3:25 am

Are we there yet?

Aww, I miss my high school friends so much. Reading your blog makes me want to see mine even more. :’)

I like the header image in this new layout. It’s very pretty! The colours look really great too. πŸ˜€ Reminds me of the one you had with “memento mori”. :3

The child reminds me of when my brother was little; everyone thought he was a girl because he was very cute. lol

I have rarely seen your name spelled with one “L”; I know a number of Michelles with their name spelled as “Michelle”. πŸ™‚

» Posted By Georgina On July 5, 2009 @ 7:35 pm

Liar, liar

I agree with what you say. My mother often calls me names uncalled for, along the lines of idiot, stupid, and bitch. It hurts a lot more than someone in the street calling me a bitch for getting in their way or something.

I don’t know about lying to myself but I am bad at lying about anything. I know the feeling when you think something is just going to happen. I guess it depends on what it is, but when it happens, you wish it doesn’t. πŸ™

I hope you feel better soon! *hugs*

There’s this weight on my shoulders

Haha I’m not terribly sure; I was making a real generalisation there. πŸ˜› Just based on my own experiences and other people I know online. Haven’t come across anything different as of yet!

Yes, they definitely do give back to charity; I just thought it a bit sillythat she didn’t know what the USB phone was and suddenly she said “it’s expensive in the shops”. :S

» Posted By Georgina On July 3, 2009 @ 9:13 pm

Hahha I wouldn’t be able to think of a much better name. All I can think of is “dollybaby”. Eh. πŸ˜›

Whee for the new fanlisting! I remember applying for a load of songs ages ago and the category hasn’t been updated. XD

That slogan is quite humourous but obviously I agree that it isn’t appropriate for a company being all professional and everything. What annoys me is when people are trying to be professional and spell professional wrong… anyway, they were obviously amateurs.

I actually went to an op shop today (that’s what they call it here). πŸ™‚ I picked up a nice casual bag for $5 and some genuine perfumes (one was Christian Dior) for $5 each; the bottles were still quite full! Great what a bargain you can pick up. The lady at the counter was a bit of a bitch; tried to make me pay $2 for a tiny and incredibly rusty chain with a crystal on the end (I only wanted the crystal but she wouldn’t even give it to me for $1 so I just didn’t buy it). Well, that was my experience. XD

Happy 142nd Birthday, Canada!

Happy Canada day! We have Australia day in January and people really show their appreciation/support/love by wearing green and gold – that part doesn’t make sense because our flag is blue with the union jack and stars. Green and gold have been the “Aussie” colours. Eh, weird. But the newspaper always sells these free but kind of tacky sun hats, that actually become a trend. O_O

Mmm I haven’t had crab in a while; I tend to go for the crab soups in restaurants (the good ones, obviously)!

I can’t even remember if we get a holiday for Australia day. My bad. I don’t know how old Australia is either. :X

Monday ramblings

You have to show us the recording if you do. I haven’t heard of another one syllable doll brand – or I can’t think of one now – perhaps Clay just has trouble with it. πŸ˜›

I quite like it when work is quiet. I don’t usually like being disturbed anyway! Sometimes at work I’m happy that the children aren’t coming up to me and asking questions and when they do… I just want them to go away. XD

» Posted By Georgina On June 30, 2009 @ 6:45 pm

Like a little kid (most days!)

Those Blythe dolls still kind of freak me out, haha. As a child I think I had a big ragdoll and a few “special” Barbies. A princess Barbie is one I remember. πŸ™‚ I was more into Polly Pocket and Starcastles. :S

I hope you have fun at the barbecue! There’s a barbecue at uni every Thursday; I just never noticed. πŸ˜›

Getting competitive with games is good, haha. πŸ˜€ James and I play really silly games online, like card games.

Reevaluating things to do

I see a little somebody tagged me earlier! πŸ™‚

High five for the aquarium! I used to go all the time when I was younger, with my uncles when they visited from overseas, and when we had school excursions. Now all of a sudden I just want to go there. With James. Hehehe. And the zoo as well.

Hurrah for Ames! πŸ™‚ I have a bunch of to-do lists for my basket of domains, not to mention having a pretty bad urge to obtain some more for photography projects… Not till I’m done with my current ones! Well, I am trying to resist.

If you have more time, I say definitely increase your hours for volunteering. πŸ™‚ Sounds great!

Father’s day is in September over here… so weird. πŸ˜›

When’s the last time that you played tourist in your local area?
Well, it’s not really “local” as in close, but because I go to uni in the city, James and I are always bumming around to the new places there. XD
