How updating a program made me hate my printer

Silly Adobe. I was getting that problem with printing stuff in Google Chrome and I kept saying, “but it IS updated!” I swear it was. I’m sorry you had to go through all that; I blame the printer most of the time, since I’d never suspect software of being the culprit.

Vista is lovely, I hung onto it for as long as I could. It never gave me any problems, but I decided to switch to 7 anyway because it kept wanting me to update and there were just hundreds of them! Windows 7 runs smoother and you honestly won’t notice much of a difference (not a bad difference anyway).

4th Year Rambles

I wish you all the best in being admitted to a B in Nursing! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you. πŸ™‚ At some point I wanted to do another B, but I would rather pursue a Master of something, so I applied for two courses in a completely different field to what I’m doing now. I’m relying on professional experience and other background experience to let me in, and one of them considers graduates not from that field sooo.

I fully support you on that diet! *hugs* I recently spent time lowering my cholesterol by eating no junk food at all and eating large amounts of beans, peas and corn. I grew to love them! For some reason I got sick of the carrots easily. I do love them very much but I suppose trying to eat them every day ruined it. πŸ˜› You’ll kick ass!

Again happy anniversary to you guys! :3 I’m very happy for you and wish you all the best for the years to come. <3

Smile, don’t kill anyone.

Hahaha I remember when you showed me that “leggings are not pants” website. I absolutely can’t stand when girls wear leggings with shirts, or dresses that are too short to be called dresses at all. If it covers my butt, it’s all good. I love dresses, though I don’t have all that many and I’m actually itching to buy some more. And skirts. ;D

I’m amazed that you are such a patient person. πŸ™‚ I don’t think I have fantastic social skills but doing a degree in communication has left me more confident than I was before. I still think I’d hate to work with people after all the group work we’ve done…

While my computer was out of order…

The nails look funky!

I love oxtail soup. :B I hope that recipe’s a good one!

You can never be too old for doodling on fogged windows. πŸ˜€

I really cannot believe I’m related to him

I’m infuriated… I hear about these stories all the time, and it seems to be the tweens and preteens who can’t show any sympathy or remorse for anything. I knew someone in Christchurch whose cousin posted on her Facebook wall “forget about the quacke in cc japans was bigger”. It makes me feel more ashamed to be related to their parents… you kind of wonder if they teach them anything.

James’s little cousin, a believer in God, has divorced parents. His dad’s two ex-girlfriends both passed away from medical conditions and this kid said to the family at a gathering, “I hope they’re in hell”. Religion issues aside, you just don’t say those things… some little kiddies need to learn respect. :X

RE: I’m actually not that interested in phone games anymore. XD Someone suggested Bakery Story, where you run a little bakery and cook food… the novelty wore off in ten minutes, I swear. I haven’t even tried Angry Birds yet! πŸ˜› But I’ve got some notes/organisation apps, WordPress, some Twitter apps and my personal favourite, TripView… because I just need those bus/train timetables. 8D

On eating habits and another final DONE.

Hooray for having a chill day and an extremely nutritious meal. ;D

I haven’t watched television in a long time… there is nothing on for me to watch, so I usually watch DVDs or videos on YouTube. Definitely very relaxing.

Good luck in the last two finals! It always bugs me when one assignment is worth 50%. D:

Study study study!

Noommmm. You know it’s good to have a doughnut every once in a while. I haven’t had any in a while because they’re too sweet for my liking. But I had chocolate!

Good luck in your exams! <3

Morning tea and Swedish furniture walk into a bar…

Pretty layout! πŸ˜€ I remember one of my old layouts having 50+ layers, it was definitely really complicated.

I love the layout at 4alissia. I just tweeted about it, hopefully more people find out about it and can offer a helping hand.

There’s a restaurant I went to with my mum, dad and brother and the service was terrible. The lady didn’t understand a word we were saying and when we asked about our food and why it hadn’t arrived, all she did was walk to the counter and come back – she hadn’t even asked the chef about it… and she was just quite rude. We always associate those bad experiences with the restaurants we experienced them in. I don’t remember the name of this particular restaurant either. πŸ˜›

I’ve only been for dim sum once! *_*

I’ve got a routine, bonus points for me

Nawww, I’m doing the same thing. I haven’t gone back to uni again but I need to stop buying so much food on campus (and at the restaurants around!). I’m going to start taking more food with me. I’m usually never hungry at home but when I’m out and about I get more hungry. ;_; I’m getting too lazy to make sandwiches in the morning, and buying salads is so expensive. Funny that healthy food = $$$ most of the time.

I hope you find a job! I hate job-hunting, I really do. Partially because my mum wants me so desperately to find one, when I already have one. @_@ I believe James’s sister is doing work experience in a hospital… don’t know if you have labs or centres that you can ask around in? D:

Time for cheer!

HOOOORAAY. πŸ˜€ Fingers crossed you did well.

Cleaning my room was on my list, and that’s half done. I totally vacuumed my room today. The desk and shelves are still a mess though. πŸ˜›

“-Blog” – I found this amusing, for some reason.

I used to skate, for a year. I took lessons twice a week. It was… pretty intense, to say the least. I had this boy in my class, younger than me (it was a bit of an open age class), who would continually show off that he could go faster than everyone else. I don’t think I was that good. I think I preferred rollerblading. The ice hurt. XD

You beat me in the email department; I only have four; I regularly check them. As for domains, I’m sitting at 16. I’m going to be tossing a few away and merging some projects soon. :B

Wow, we have all too much in common… I liked Twilight before everyone talked about it. I read the book in 2006 shortly after it came out, because I read about it in a ‘new books’ section of a magazine.

I don’t usually have a problem buying for James. He doesn’t mind anything I give him, or whether I give him something or not. Most of the time I make something more sentimental rather than buying something. Last year for Christmas I made a little box with many notes in it, all dated, so that he could read one each day. XD Quite corny…

I’d share 25 things about me, but that would make this comment excruciatingly long and probably boring. I did add a new page to my site listing all the belongings that I assigned names to though: Which probably covers a few things about me. πŸ˜›

I hope this baby lives for quite a long time to come; that’s really sad that one of them died. πŸ™ When I went to the zoo there we SO many stick insects. I’ll admit they scared me a bit because I was looking for them when I realised the ‘sticks’ I was looking at WERE them… πŸ˜› Btu they are really intriguing creatures.

You have so much to do before you even get a break, yikes. πŸ™ *hugs* Hopefully it’ll be over before you know it, it’s too close to Christmas and holiday season to have so many assignments and tests!

I’ve had a few of those spammy followers lately, sending me spammy tweets too. I just clear my timeline (I use Tweetdeck) so I don’t have to see them anymore. I’d probably only make my account private if I had private things to say. I’ve blocked some people on Twitter because they’re annoying with the spammy tweets, or they tried to start a fight just because I tweeted something they disagreed with… most of the time I don’t bother blocking and I just don’t look at their tweets. πŸ˜›

Remembering; we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow.

I remember having gone to a camp in the middle of November and the 11th fell during that trip. We were actually down near the Australian War memorial so we all bought some poppies there and placed them across the sides of the names of those who had been through the war.

RE: Our tutors get evaluated too (which are also anonymous). They also grade our work. If you’re lucky they might also be a subject coordinator, otherwise they’re more of an aide.

If you really wanted to know…

*HUUGS* I hope everything is okay. <3 You sound really busy! I hope you do well in your exams. πŸ™‚

I don't know how people could possibly be so nasty about your Blythe website. I hope it tones down soon. Drama, drama. πŸ™

My stick babies are still alive!

These little guys amuse me, even though I’m not very keen on any insects. I actually think they’re quite cute.

Do they leave little holes in the leaves? For some reason, when a creature leaves all these tiny holes in a leaf, the leaf has the tendency to creep me out with all the little holes. xD

I clearly lead a boring life…

Ahh headphones amuse me when they stop working and I have to hold the wire in a certain position. X_X My iPhone ones are dying and I think it’s utterly ridiculous that they have to be priced so high – close to $40.

I saw a cute pair in the markets for just $5.00. The earphone part had a design like a pellet of gum. I wanted to get them but I wasn’t sure if $5.00 was going to get me good earphones…

A thousand posts? Really?!

Congratulations on 1000 posts! πŸ˜€ I only moved over to WordPress just over a year ago, and there I have 223 posts or something. :3 They’re all public!

It’s a shame you had to drop that class especially since the teacher teaching it was one you liked (for me that would definitely be incentive to continue, lol). But at least the other ones you’ve got don’t suck.

I think it’s funny remembering that you first commented on my site back in… 2007? Or was it 2008? I don’t remember, but I had those ugly iframes.

It was 2008. You had that sunflower layout. :3 <3

September… Blergh.

Drool, domains. I promised myself not to get any more until December, unless I get approved for a fanlisting that’s a wishlister (that I want to get a domain for :P). Good luck on those! All 15 of my domains are open, though some need revamps.

I never had to buy many textbooks for university. I bought one last year, and because I’m a cheapskate, I thought $70 was a lot for one book. And I got a discount on that, too! Most of the material we get are from online sources and have been scanned in and are available to us when we log in online. And from that, we are expected to do our own research.

I got a new bed a few months ago; I’ve always had a single bed though. I used to have a double bed in my room but it was used for guests if we had any.

Downtime? What downtime?

I don’t know why it makes me grin that you’re needed that much. πŸ˜› At work, I feel that it gets really stressful with more and more piles of work to mark (though that also depends on the kids, some of them do stacks each day, or do stacks and don’t come in for a few weeks, then return with a huge pile). I have to keep up to speed too, otherwise I won’t be seen as “efficient”. Though I have been working in the same place for over two years, I’m used to it now. My boss has given me compliments and I know she freaked out about a year ago when I said I was taking some time off to study – I was needed. xD

I usually only get excited about school when it’s the holidays, because I get pretty bored of doing whatever I do in the break.

Nothing could go wrong anytime that I’m with you

I need new shoes! I am not sure what kind to get. I would love a pair of shoes with bows but at the moment I’m looking for some nice flat boots. I have quite a few with high heels that aren’t really good for wearing for long periods during the day.

I’ve never been to a concert! I’ve heard a few songs by the Ataris though. I think my “favourite band” tends to change a lot, because I go through different phases, and a lot of the bands I listen to are long gone, or disbanded not too long ago.

I felt like going to a concert to find out some new bands, but I feel strange if I don’t have that initial connection to the band or any of its members and I decide to go to a concert. Ah well, I shall hope my first time is soon.

I have considered getting a tattoo, but it would be really small and on my wrist or ankle. Maybe just a heart or a star, or something small. I don’t think I could stand the pain, haha.

A little of everything

I’ve not heard of Mr Magoo! D: There are so many old television shows that I used to watch. I only come across a few snips on YouTube, never spotted any in a store.

All those resources are so cheap, I’m surprised! I’m glad you got them for a good price. I usually look through the remnants bins (or similar sections) in most stores just in case I can grab anything nice for a little cheaper. Everyone likes a little something on sale. :B

I can’t even remember what I did on the weekend, but the past few days I’ve just been on the laptop. 8D

Introducing Mr. Kitty

Aww what a cutie! We had a cat walk into our garden quite a lot and do his business in our garden… he (she?) was nasty-looking though, wasn’t quite appealing to the eye mostly because it was quite fat. This one looks lovely though.

Personally I’ve never really been a cat person. I think I’m more of a dog person but I haven’t had much experience with either. I had two dogs for some time but not a long time. My piano teacher always had more than two cats in her house (at one point she had nine!) and many of my friends have cats… I can’t tell which one I’ve been exposed to more. πŸ˜›

Catching up and why I’m upset tonight

F…Far out. I would have been more than upset. I’m glad my mum doesn’t do anything like that, and believe me, I would say my room is in a worse state than yours has probably ever been (I imagine you are a neat person)!

I wish my parents would give me more freedom – well, namely my mum – in what is in my room. My mum inspects the floor and the computer and things, scoffing at little particles of dust she finds on her fingers.

Your dad sounds like he needs to control himself a little. It was ridiculous of him to put your things outside. My mum throws things across the room when she gets angry at me.

About putting clothes on the chair/bed – I put mine on both. If it’s to be washed, I just toss it straight into the hamper. My mum hates seeing unfolded clothes on my chair. She also notices that I move clothes to my bed when I sit on the chair, and move clothes to the chair from the bed when I go to bed. XD

Pretending to be busy like a bee

Oooh, a new project. I went to take a peek and I’m glad you put all your effort into something that you love doing and have an interest in, not to mention you’re adding to the small amount of Blythe blogs out there. πŸ˜€

In Australia everything changed in university admission after my first year; they had different rules for secondary school students to enter, and had a lot of new courses which I wished they had introduced earlier.

I took three science subjects and maths in high school because I enjoyed them, and wanted to do something science-related, but when my grades slipped especially for maths, I steered clear of anything to do with maths. πŸ˜› I feel disappointed that I’ve lost touch with the subject. πŸ˜›

I have a few choice words for someone I work with

Oh what a prick! Argggh. Taking advantage of you like that, the nerve. It’s a good thing you did approach your supervisor. In that case, being a good worker led you to this conclusion. Thank goodness you didn’t take a long time doing that work.

A lot of people tick me off when they use me. I don’t mind helping people at all, in general, and often I even offer help. This morning I received an email from someone sweet-talking me into making a layout for them. O_O;

I want to stay in bed…

I think I’ve had the same quilt for ages… it’s pretty strong and doesn’t seem to wear out, though I guess that’s different from a comforter? I’m not sure to be quite honest. πŸ˜› I usually layer up with big woolly blankets in the winter (like now in Australia).

At least you didn’t screw anything up! That’s a relief. πŸ˜› Better safe than sorry I guess, haha.

Better late than never!

Eep, dentists! I don’t mind going, as I probably told you already, but now I’ve got an ulcer under my tongue which is pretty uncomfortable.

Since I last commented, my wisdom teeth have grown a lot more. XD It was giving my gum pain but I’m glad it’s evened out.

1. What’s something new that’s going on in your life? And on your blog/website(s)?
I opened my portfolio at XD
2. What is your favourite recipe (baking!)? Any that you would recommend?
Hmm… I really love ham and cheese muffins.
3. What is something that a family member did to you that was hurtful? Did they bother apologizing for it?
My mum’s called me everything under the sun (bitch, as an example)… I was just disobeying her, so she didn’t apologise. 😐

More work-ish-ness

Aww, cute Toadette! πŸ™‚ I hope you have a good summer working and add new things to your work space each day. πŸ˜€

Your supervisor is some snoop! When I did data entry in the summer here, I was surprised to see that I had been left alone all the time and only had to approach my boss if I had completed the tasks and needed more work. She only popped in if there was something important to say. I don’t like when people constantly check up on you and breathe down your neck. You’re working… not in a class where the teacher should be eyeing you. Even so, they only did that in high school for me – they don’t really care if you’re on Facebook in class at university. XD

» Posted By Georgina On May 21, 2010 @ 7:28 pm

Oh hello, employment πŸ˜€

OOH hurray! When I did data entry in the summer, I had a little cube but it was just a temporary job so I didn’t want to decorate the space. Sometimes because there were other temporary employees, I had to use someone else’s desk. XD

You could grab a noticeboard and stick notes on it… but then again you could stick those on the walls. πŸ˜›

Maybe a few flowers or colourful paper flowers? XD

Happy Mother’s Day

LOL I love the variety and the look of the cupcakes. XD I love that sloppy one furthest to the bottom right corner.

The face just makes me laugh, hahah.

We ate out for dinner as a family for Mother’s Day. :3

Congratulations on passing calculus! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ I got a distinction and a high distinction in my assignments (sorry, had to share ;D) and I’m fucking happy too. *glomps* <3
