Spending Sunday with the sisters

Oh, crazy old ladies. How your insane antics amuse us. XD

Whee, that sounds like so much fun! I adore going to the theatre and Shakespeare, so I’m envious. ;D All the freebies sound awesome, too! I delight in going to cafes, so all of those little prizes sound excellent to me. ^__^

:O The cupcakes sound so adorable! And that’s really nice of you to make a parting gift for your coworkers. :]

Beach time and photo dump!

Ooo, that all sounds like so much fun! 😀 I haven’t been to a beach in a long time, so I’m a little envious, hahaha. And you can’t beat days where the weather turns out perfect.
I looked at the pictures of the bear hat, and it is so cute! :] What a lucky friend. ^.^

Is it September yet? Please?

Oh man, I hate stressful deadlines. o.o But I suppose they’re necessary for me, as I have a tendency to procrastinate. XD But that’s just me, haha.

I actually wasn’t a big fan of the Spice Girls when I was a child; not that I didn’t like them, I just didn’t listen to them much. O.o Ah well. 😀

My Thursday was very nice; one of my friends hosted a movie night and a bonfire, so I saw “The Prestige”. I liked it a lot.

Best of luck dealing with your project!

Mishaps, comfort, friends and dolls. <3

Haha, actually, most of the “Freshman Fifteen” comes from the amount of drinking people do once they get to college and have such easy access. But I am really not a fan of such parties, or drinking in general, so I’m definitely avoiding that issue. XD
Thankfully, OSU has a lot of range in the available food on campus, so I should easily be able to make healthy decisions. 😀

Your volunteering sounds like so much fun. 😀 One of my favorite things to do when I was a member of Key Club in high school (a community service group) was going to the local nursing home and assisting with Bingo. It was hilarious to see the reactions of those who won, and so much fun talking to whomever I happened to be sitting by that week. :)

Ugh, so sorry to hear about your fight, but great to see that you worked it out and are stronger because of it. :) Even if we don’t hear about your “happy moments” together so much, I think that we can still see how healthy of a relationship you have because you DO fight, and work it out and are stronger because of it. 😀

I don’t like driving at night either. I don’t like driving at all much. XD I’m looking forward to giving it up when I move to the city — hello public transportation and biking/walking! 😀

1. I read a lot. It lets me escape from the present and return calmer and much more relaxed so I can deal with the problem rationally and with a clear head. :) I also play music a lot. ^.^
2. My friends are all relatively close; within a fifteen minute drive. One friend’s house seems to be pretty much a central point between everyone, so we seem to meet up there a lot. XD
3. I don’t really have any candy quirks, except when I eat my M&Ms; they must be separated by color, and then eaten in ascending order based on the number within that color group. XD

Work blues…

Haha, all the post-its make me smile. ^_^ But that sucks that you have to move, and so soon before you leave. D: A couple weeks ago, I was offered the chance to move over to Customer Service, rather than register, but I was like, “Why bother? By the time I had gotten comfortable with it, I’d be leaving.” 😛 A waste of their time, too, just to try me, only for me to be done, you know? Oh well. Hope work stays off your nerves mostly! 😀

Yes, I’d like some cheese with my whine :D

Hmm, sounds like quite the interesting job. 😀 But I don’t see why those fellows hate you — you’re just doing your job to help make sure their job is running smoothly. It’s not like you’re going out of your way to point out their mistakes. :/

Haha, hooray for neatness, even if it is only in a few areas. ^^ My room was rather messy for a while, until last week when I just got fed up and went on a super cleaning spree. There’s still stuff to be done, but it doesn’t look nearly as awful now. 😛

I instantly know what I would spend said money on. ^^ A good portion of it would go toward clothing — most of it really; anything fashion — clothing, accessories, makeup. I have a love for the stuff, but rarely the money to spare to indulge myself. D: And the rest would go toward books. :] I like books, haha.

Work sucked today

**megapixel >_<
Sorry, I am flooding you with comments. D:

Oh! And I have the 12.1 Sony Cybershot in silver. 😀 I forgot to add that to the end of my other comment, haha.

It’s just sad when people who have studied this for years and earned degrees still don’t know what they’re doing. *shakes head*
But it does say something about your skills when you are better than they are! 😀

My Tuesday was pretty good; I had a super girly craving, so I played around with my makeup for a bit and played with my hair. I was quite pleased with the results, haha. ^^ And then I went on another bike ride with a friend, since we’re both trying to get in shape. 😀

Saturday date night! Sunday parade day!

Oh man, this all sounds like so much fun! 😀 I’m glad that you got to spend some quality time with Clay and hang out with C — I wish I could have seen that parade, haha. ^^

My Sunday was pretty typical; church with my family in the morning, brief relaxation in the afternoon, and then I had work in the evening. Work was boring, but I got to hang out with my best friend after, so it was a good day, haha. 😀

Good bye, July. Hello, August!

It’s crazy to me that it’s August already. o.o Our weather has been very mild for summer around here, so not only has the season felt unusual, but it’s crazy to see my friends starting to get ready to head to college. My school starts rather later than everyone else’s, so I get to be the last to leave and watch everyone pack up first; luckily, many of my friends will still be close by. :)

I’m glad to hear that you are loving your dolls; an “expensive” purchase is so worth it when it makes you so completely happy. ^_^ Have fun hanging out with Clay! 😀

Busy like a bee

Ooo, such a cute doll. 😀 Good luck naming her! I definitely want to hear what you decide on, haha. ^_^

And hooray for fabric shopping! 😀 That’s how Hannah and I get when we go to Hobby Lobby and look at crafting supplies; the sales are the bane of our existence, heh. ^^; And your park looks beautiful! If I had something like that near my home, I’d be there almost every day. :]

1. I didn’t do too much on Saturday; just hung out with Hannah while designing cards for our TCG. And on Sunday, I got to go to my other best friend’s graduation party, and hung out with her and all of my other good friends. It was a fantastic time. ^_^
2. Hm, I think that the last thing I spent money on was an album from iTunes…no, wait, I bought the update for my iPod Touch. So that, haha.
3. Hm, I’m not sure. Hannah and I call each other “dear”, “darling”, “hon”, that sort of thing, a lot. (As well as all of our friends; it’s just the way we are.) So the best endearments I probably get would probably be “Lil Sis” from one of my guy friends I consider to be like my big brother, and “Wifey” from Hannah as a joke. XD

Musings for the weekend

The extent of my weekend plans is usually just a get-together with all my friends at someone’s house to play video games and hang out, or a girls’ night with my best friend. XD My friends and I spend a lot of time hanging out during the week, but other than that, I wouldn’t have what many consider an active social life. 😛

As much fun as it is to relax on weekends, sometimes it’s good to get out and about for a few days. ^^ I hope you enjoy your busy weekend! 😀

Unexpected

Wow, that was really kind of her; I am sure there are many other people out there who would have just not bothered. She must be a very nice person. :)

» Posted By Lauren On July 24, 2009 @ 9:28 pm

It’s just not fun

Haha, I sympathize with your desire to complain about work; when it sucks, what can you do but want to share about its crappiness? XD But, yeah, that sounds like it’s really miserable. D: I hope the construction clears up soon so you can enjoy clean air once more!

» Posted By Lauren On July 23, 2009 @ 10:45 pm

ARGH, people.

Ugh, I’m sorry that you have such sleazy coworkers. D: That sucks hardcore. I mean, seriously? They keep looking even AFTER you’ve told them to look up multiple times? Completely ridiculous. Can’t they be reported for some sort of harassment, or something? XD

Hm, I don’t think that I’ve ever ended up with any nicknames THAT extreme, haha, but Hannah has been calling me “Wifey” for the past few months after we were “married” as part of a joke. XD

» Posted By Lauren On July 22, 2009 @ 2:53 pm

Do you throw up? You look very nice today.

That’s so dang weird! o_o And sad that a person would assume that you have to starve yourself in order to maintain your appearance. *shakes head*

1. A little while ago at work, I didn’t know whether to be flattered or creeped out while a group of white trash guys discussed how my eyes were “the nicest they’d ever seen.” Or something along those lines. o_o
2. I often call my best friend “darling”, “hon”, “dear”, “love”, etc.; I like endearments a lot, and I do often use them toward anyone I’m close with, but my best friend just gets them the most because we are so close.
Oh, and I use any sort of cute name for my kitty cat. :3

Buying cardigans in the summer?

Ooo, hooray shopping! 😀 I always love getting new clothes, especially when they’re way on sale. ^^

My Saturday was quite interesting. It began well; I spent the night at Hannah’s, so we were up until the wee hours of this morning. XD And then I went to a party this evening for a friend’s birthday and it was totally rad, haha. There was some drama sprinkled throughout, but, in the end, I really don’t care about that. 😀

It’s a lot like very conditional love

Hm, perhaps I’m rather unique in the fact that my parents and really haven’t talked about my relationships (their expectations, or anything). We’ve, of course, been over the, er…physical stuff (the dreaded “talk” every child hates. XD), but my parents really just made sure that I have good judgment, and they seem to trust me and expect that I’ll use it. Because of the way that they raised me, I know what I expect from my guy, and I’m sure they’ll approve of whomever I pick. I don’t strive to pick someone they’ll like, I’m just sure it’ll work out that way.

The restless feeling within these four walls

Ah work; I hate when things are boring and repetitive, so I try to spice them up anyway possible. Usually I end up humming songs to myself the entire time, haha.

Mm, I didn’t do much yesterday; just lazed around the house, working on internet stuff, until I had to head to work for the evening. Work was long, but busy, so time passed fairly quickly. ^^

I’m not like “everyone else”

Show him a pharmacy degree — that takes, like, at least seven years to complete. Or how long it takes to become a doctor, much less a specialized one. Or a veterinarian. Apparently your dad does not realize that degrees are taking longer these days. What with the increased amount of information in different fields, there are increasing amounts of majors than cannot be complete in four years — your dad really needs to look into what he’s talking about…before he tries to talk about it. u_U

Sunday was good…

I’m sorry your day took a turn for the worse. :( My Sunday ended up the same way; perhaps it was a generally crappy day around the world. :/

But I sincerely hope that your Monday and the days after are much, much better. 😀

An unusual Thursday

Haha, sounds like quite the busy day. :) As boring as the meeting was, at least it’s nice to get paid to honestly do nothing! That’s how I feel about our “training” videos. 😛 And super hooray for the candy! Swedish fish and gummy bears are some of my favorites. :3

I work as a cashier at a “super” convenience store: I typically work five to six hour shifts, four times a week. I get there, clock in, dump any personal things in the employee lounge, and then head to the money room to get my till. I get on whichever register I’m assigned for the evening, check out people’s orders for two and a half hours (all the while chatting with nice people or their kids, or ignoring and mentally abusing the rude people). I get a fifteen minute break, where I either sit in the employee lounge and eat/text/play with my phone or I go to the garden section to hang out with some of the nice guys there. Back on register for the rest of my shift. Ten minutes before I need to clock out, I head back to the money room, count my till, check with a manager that I’m not missing anything, and turn in my money.

The only variations are if I’m a “breaker”, where I’ll swap around registers and give my coworkers their breaks, and the occasional times I need to go back to HR (Human Relations) to watch a training video. (Which are usually very cheesy and boring. But I’m getting paid to sit for half an hour, sometimes a bit more, and to secretly text. XD) All in all, it’s not a big job for minimum wage. 😛 And sometimes the cashiers next to me are fun to talk to, so we chat when things are a bit slow.

That was just… uncomfortable.

Ergh, that would be so creepy. o_O I work at a huge chain convenience store as a cashier, so I doubt that there are any rules against a cashier dating another one (maybe there are rules against the managers, but whatever). But with a guy that much older, your mother in the room, and a smaller work place, that would just be plain creepy! D: I’ve had customers hit on me, which is weird enough, but they go away and no one has ever bothered me again. But you’ll probably keep seeing this guy around. o_o If he becomes a problem, definitely report that creeper! D:

Mellow weekend, sans marshmallows

Haha, sounds like it was quite a fun time. XD Getting ones ashes turned into a diamond and then giving it to a family member is a little…creepy. o_o I’d be weirded out to wear a piece of jewelry made of a dead person. But that’s just me. XD

A happy Easter (or whatever :P) to you too! ^_^

Fictional future of a fishy life

Hahahaha, I love it. XD I would totally follow that story like crazy on the news. As if we need any more crazy parents — we have the octo-mom and you can be the mermaid-mother. XP

When I grow up, I want to be yarn harlot too!

I really want to get back into knitting. All I have ever done though is scarves and things but I really want to learn how to do more.

1. Every week whilst I wait for my bus.
2. Chick lit or just what they call general fiction.

» Posted By Lauren On March 26, 2009 @ 11:40 am

Two little friends: Gwen & Albert

Omigosh, I do not crochet (not that I would mind! I’ve just never had the time to learn, and then any time to make things), but these two are so adorable, it makes me want to go out and learn and try making some right now. :3

My English paper isn’t writing itself…

That’s awesome that your word count is working out perfectly for you. I hated writing my college admission’s essay, ’cause it could not be over 500 words and I wanted to keep writing. XD

I’m not entirely sure how one goes about citing the Bible, but I’m sure if you searched on Google, there would be a site all about that sort of thing — MLA and APA citing guides abound on the internet. :)
