Manic Monday #147

If you were at a friend’s house for a holiday dinner and you found a dead cockroach in your salad, what would you do?
I’d probably say something… only because it’s kinda awkward trying to pull a dead cockroach from the salad and into my napkin without attracting attention because I’d kinda not want to touch it with any of my eating utensils… Or my fingers.

If you could put anyone you know on Prozac, who would you choose?
Umm… Definitely not writing the name here - never know who’s reading!

How do you feel about public displays of affection?
I like them, but I do draw the line at things that would cause me to get arrested for public indecency.

So… My Sunday plans with the boyfriend got postponed.. Then again, I currently have approximately a foot of snow on my deck so I’m kind of not surprised… But that being said, he is looking into getting a more snow-friendly car. Which kinda makes me sad because I really like his current car (and he told me the name of the car that he’s likely to get and I don’t remember seeing any of those in Hot Wheels form…) but it’s not snow-friendly and, I think he just wants something that’s a bit better with gas and such, which I understand. That being said, I believe we agreed on seeing each other on the 27th or the 28th, I don’t remember which at the moment, but it will be next weekend. Or sometime next week since we’re both off in terms of school and work, yay.

I still don’t have a tree up, because my family is awesome lazy. So the only festive one is yours truly, what with my massive amounts of baking that I’ve been doing. Today’s masterpiece was cupcake truffles, topped with melted chocolate on top with a red or green M&M. Because I’m awesomely festive like that. Half of them are already gone because of a) myself (… I may have a sweet tooth?) and b) my father (who’s really happy that I’m into baking and such).

Cows go moo.

@ Lauren, Jenna and James - chocolate Skittles aren’t the same as M&M’s  (which is good, or else I would have felt the need to buy M&M’s or Smarties instead). They have the same texture as regular Skittles, just with chocolate-related flavours. The flavours were: vanilla (absolutely horrible), s’mores (more marshmallow-ish than anything else in terms of flavour), caramel (getting better), chocolate (did taste like chocolate, so I wasn’t turned off by it) and brownie (it tasted like chocolate with nuts, so it won overall). And speaking of Skittles, I’ve run out (actually, I ran out last night, but that’s another story).

And since I don’t really have any thing to say beyond ’studying for my psychology final is kind of lame’, you all get a snippet of the most absurd conversation ever. About cows, no less.

C: Well, I’ll be back. Going grazing.
M: Grazing?
C: You know… mooooooo… cow… grazing…
M: I know what a cow is.
C: I’m going to go get something to eat and drink.
M: But ‘going grazing’?
C: You know, cows graze in a field. I’m going grazing…
C: Do you get it?
[pause]
C: Well? Do you?
M: Yes, I do.
C: Hehehehe.
M: You think you’re so cute sometimes.
C: I’ll be back in a bit.
C: And I am.
M: You are such a dork, it’s not even funny.
C: It is a little bit, or else you wouldn’t be smiling right now.
M: … Shut up.

Skittles encourage awesome study habits? I think so.

Chocolate Skittles. Seriously. I have never seen them before and then I was wandering a dollar store in the mall and there they were. In all their shiny, chocolatey glory. All for a dollar. Other interesting things include a clothing store that was going out of business in which my sister and I went through the clothing and actually managed to find things that we liked and in the right sizes. She got a light blue skirt (that I picked out) and I got a light lime-ish green skirt with a black pattern. Definitely spring/summer wear, unless I can find something to keep my legs warm. And other than that… I’m going to go back to studying memory for my psychology final.

I hope everyone has/had a great Saturday.

Three cheers for being done midterms (for good this time!)

So… Guess who rocked her family studies midterm…? [And yes, the answer better be my name!] So it went well, obviously. Luckily I did all the questions or else I probably would have failed the multiple choice component (which happens to be 70% of the midterm grade). Oy. Anyways, yeah, kicked ass except for that portion where I forgot about processing speed (but to be fair, that was only a fifth on the question and I did get the other four and it was only 1 mark). So… Yay! It’s worth quite a bit too (40%) so I’m psyched that I actually feel confident about it (and it’s not that kind of confidence th

I’m currently watching J eat something that’s basically… a block of chocolate that’s full of mini marshmallows. She spent $2 on this sugar-inducing-coma concoction. It’s really big too, probably about the size of a small dictionary (but not one of those tiny keychain dictionaries). And now I’m sitting and chatting with people about biology and physics.

I’d say that I’m surrounded by science geeks, but then I’m pretty sure that I count as one myself.

I was productive (for a Monday, at least)

Or rather, I was a productive as one can ever possibly be for a Monday. Today I: woke up, rushed out the door, went on the bus, went on the train, went onto another train, braved the rain to get to English, sat through class, went to the building where my psych lecture is, got my shoes incredibly muddy, chatted with people, sat through class, learned nothing new (learned it already in bio class), couldn’t find the room for the write-in, wrote almost 2,000 words, attended bio class, didn’t fall asleep in bio class (yay!), went on the bus, went on the train, went onto another bus, reread parts of Great Expectations, got home, texted the boyfriend a few times, ate a croissant, worked on some family studies questions, took a very short (only about 30 minutes long) nap, woke up, got dinner started, watched General Hospital (I fast forward the boring parts, only watched about 15 minutes total today), had dinner, worked on more family studies questions, ate a cookie, washed dishes, finished the family studies questions (yay!), printed off the family studies chapter 11 questions (for tomorrow, not today), texted the boy some more, did psych notes for today, yawned, wrote this blog entry.

Now I’m about to go and study for my quiz tomorrow morning on joints in the body. Hmmm, joints… Then I’ll be off to sleep (!!!).
