If someone told me a year ago that I’d be in a relationship, the first person that would have come to mind would be A (who’s very happy in Calgary with the most adorable little girl ever – I’m excited, he’s going to send me a photo of her on a mall Santa’s knee for her first Christmas!).
If someone told me a year ago that I would engage in, initiate and encourage the sending and receiving of dirty text messages, I probably would have laughed and told you that you were very mistaken.
And if someone had told me a year ago that I’d be in a relationship with someone that I didn’t happen meet on public transit or at school, I would have called you a liar because since I spend most of my time at school or in public transit, it’s statistically probable that I would meet someone on public transit or at school.
Actually, even better: if you told me a year ago that I would be voluntarily listening to a country artist I would have laughed. Hard. And then told you that you were highly mistaken and off your medication.
And while I am fully aware of the fact that I’m not American, I’d just like to say thanks for a couple of things (because it’s always nice to show a little gratitude, right?): My sanity (what little there is left) and the people that love me.
Aww, that was lovely. 🙂
