Everyone needs a hobby and most of the things that you do everyday can be considered a hobby. But those are just so… mundane. There’s no real conversation just waiting to happen when you mention what it is you do with your spare time. So, to help you get started, here are some hobbies that you might be the only one that does at the next party you go to.

• Collecting road kill. I mean, sure it sounds disgusting, but someone has to take care of those poor squished birds and squirrels. And people will definitely remember who you are the next time your name is being mentioned.
• Creating scrapbooks of newspaper articles on serial killers.
• A pornography collection. It may seem kind of ‘so what?’ but most people who collect it won’t have an entire list of everything that they own. ‘Just in case I’m at the shop and can’t remember what I already have, you know?’
• The collection of tissues used by celebrities. Not only will you be spending a fortune on it, you’ll also be successful in turning off everyone except the other crazies.
• Becoming a rock hound, also known as a rock collector. Who knows, maybe those half-dozen rocks you picked out of your mother’s garden might actually just be… of no monetary worth.
• Devoting an entire room of your house to a specific serial killer, including any and all artwork, copies of letters, books and photographs of the (alleged?) killer and the victims. I think people will become afraid of you after this, just to let you know.
• The penny collection. A little bit more sane than the other hobbies mentioned above, but still a little odd considering it’s pennies.
• Creating scrapbooks of press and dried flowers. This is possibly the most sane suggestion I’ve got for you.
• Collecting chewed gum off of the sidewalk. This is not only disgusting, it is also not particularly healthy at all.
• Collecting cats and becoming known as the neighbourhood’s crazy cat lady. Not only will you be responsible for an obscene amount of felines, you will also be spending a fortune each year with getting all the shots up to date and feeding all of them.
