This will be my fifth year participating in NaNoWriMo and my second with NaBloPoMo. The difference this year is that beyond a title, I absolutely have no plot, no list of characters or anything for NaNoWriMo. Which is really odd for me, because I usually have a list of characters, a thought process that I go through for getting my characters from points A to B to C. But this year, I have… nothing. Well, I made up character names when I started, and came up with a setting (local city) and a random process of how the main characters meet. It’s a lot easier to come up with psychotic characters without meaning to, I’ve realized. Which I am not sure what this says about me. I plan to get ahead (by quite a bit) by mid-week this week, as I won’t have any time for writing next week. Wish me luck?
Oh, and also with the first of November means that Halloween candy is discounted. Yay. I bought… a bag of Tootsie Rolls, a bag of Maynards candy (Fuzzy Peaches, Swedish Berries, Sour Patch Kids, Fruit Mania? No clue about the last one…), bag of caramel-green apple pops (ugh, so disgusting but I like them…) and bag of mixed candy (Mentos, Airheads and Chupa Chups). And I was relatively conservative with my candy-buying antics… At least compared to my sisters. One only bought a box of mini chocolate bars, but then my other sister… several boxes of mini chocolate bars, a few bags of mini chocolate bars and those little boxes of Smarties. We had a full shopping basket at the store and it was all of candy. The cashier asked us if we were making up for not going Trick-or-Treating the night before. Erm, yeah, pretty much.
How was your post-Halloween? Have you come down from that sugar high yet?
