I have so many To Do Lists right now. I have one for this website (content that I want to get up before the end of the summer), a list for my game (which is turning 3 years old soon!) and my writing/crafts site (which is getting revamped… albeit rather slowly).

And then there’s a list of all the stuff that I want to do this summer that’s offline. My friends want to go bicycling one weekend (early July), and then there’s Les Miserables with Clay (mid-July) and a Shakespeare play that I’m going to with my sisters (late August). There’s a sleepover birthday party, a parade (early August) and oodles of volunteering. But there’s just so much more that I want to do. Like…

Essentially, I’d like to play tourist in the local metropolitan area. And document it in the form of photographs. I’d like to have a different sort of summer than I did last year, where I didn’t do very much beyond work and buy textbooks for the upcoming year (I am such a nerd…).

But seriously, the aquarium. I haven’t been in years and years and years. So I’m sure they’ve changed a lot and gotten a lot of new animals and such. Plus, it’s an aquarium. Don’t even get me started on how many times I watched Blue Planet when my dad borrowed it from his friend.

Of course, there’s also some not-so-fun things to do. Like do a bit more research on nursing programs (well, that’s sort of fun), work (and work, work, work), getting used to driving the other car (that’s twice the size of the other car – or just feels that way), registering for courses, buying textbooks.

And I’ve been considering increasing the number of hours I volunteer per week. I currently do 2 hours (1pm-3pm) on Sundays. The woman who supervises the volunteers on the weekends is perfectly okay if I decide to change my hours or increase them, as she’s already mentioned that. So I’m considering that… Maybe. I tend to make plans with friends and such on Saturdays, so I think it’d be fine if I lengthened the amount of time I volunteered on Sundays – she’s always understanding if I decide to take a week off. So… Maybe?

But in other news, regarding my actual day…

My dad liked his Father’s Day gift (two new shirts, one package of Ice Breakers mints – his favourite, and lunch out). Which was good. He spotted the mints (partially hidden under the two shirts) and opened that one first and had one before he went to try on the new shirts. It was funny, because I had a bet with my sisters that the first thing that he would do after opening his gift was to open the mints.

And my question for you today is…

When’s the last time that you played tourist in your local area?

  1. Like… 5, 6 years ago before we first moved to this godforsaken area. If you can even call what we did tourism.

I just took my dad out for dinner, as well as my mom. ‘Spensive dinner, too, though I’m sure both of them were pretty pissed off at me because I was late in coming home from work. Because I lied and went to Royce’s house. And they figured it out. Stupid me. Oh well.

  2. I see a little somebody tagged me earlier! πŸ™‚

High five for the aquarium! I used to go all the time when I was younger, with my uncles when they visited from overseas, and when we had school excursions. Now all of a sudden I just want to go there. With James. Hehehe. And the zoo as well.

Hurrah for Ames! πŸ™‚ I have a bunch of to-do lists for my basket of domains, not to mention having a pretty bad urge to obtain some more for photography projects… Not till I’m done with my current ones! Well, I am trying to resist.

If you have more time, I say definitely increase your hours for volunteering. πŸ™‚ Sounds great!

Father’s day is in September over here… so weird. πŸ˜›

When’s the last time that you played tourist in your local area?
Well, it’s not really “local” as in close, but because I go to uni in the city, James and I are always bumming around to the new places there. XD

  3. I love to do lists! I especially love summer because for some reason I always feel more productive with the said to do lists. And now… after reading this blog… I MUST go to the aquarium asap! I can’t remember the last time I visited one. πŸ™

It’s kind of hard to play tourist where I live. I mean, I live in Orange County, but besides Laguna Beach (and I’m there several times a month), there isn’t much touristy things to do. But when I live in the Bay Area, I always played around like a tourist whenever I went into San Francisco. πŸ™‚

  4. Wow that’s a lot to do! I love it! I am always looking like a tourist in New York City because I love to take photos. πŸ˜›
