If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool. Use the real song.

Opening Credits: Look After You by The Fray (Not that bad of a song to start off with…)

Waking Up: Weekend by The Birthday Massacre

First Day of School: Flavour of the Week by American Hi-Fi (Because it’s acceptable for kindergarteners to have someone new every day of the week…)

Falling in Love: Narcissist by Hedley (I laughed when this song started playing for this ‘track’…)

Fight Song: A Little’s Enough by Angels and Airwaves

Breaking Up: Perfect Time of Day by Howie Day (Seriously, best song ever for the track topic.)

Prom Night: No Love by Simple Plan

Life: Good Day to Die by Hot Hot Heat (And that, children, is what they call irony.)

Mental Breakdown: The Ghost of a Good Thing by Dashboard Confessional (I guess if I do have a mental breakdown, I would be a ghost of a good thing…?)

Driving: Please Please Please by Shout Out Louds (Please, please, please stop lecturing me while I’ve got my foot on the gas pedal.)

Flashback: Breathless by Better Than Ezra

Getting Back Together: First Date by Blink 182 (First date, take 2?)

Wedding: Bad Case of a Broken Heart by The Ataris (So you know that part when whoever’s running the show asks if anyone knows why the couple shouldn’t be wed? Yeah, someone ends up speaking out and mentioning that the bride was doing one of the groomsmen.)

Birth of a Child: 100 Years by Five For Fighting

Final Battle: The Killing Lights by A.F.I.

Funeral Song: Aimer by Romeo et Juliette (I have a song all about love for my funeral song… This bodes well.)

Final Credits: Whatever Gets You Through Today by The Radio

Happy 2nd Birthday

My baby (roleplaying game) turned two today! I first opened Ames on June 25, 2006. And while it’s never been ‘huge’, there’s always been a great group of roleplayers there and I’m pleased to be able to announce that my baby has turned two!

Holding On Fireflies

Washed in moonlight, I step outside
And I just breathe as I wonder
How to change things, how to fix things
Because I don’t know how to be anyone
Other than the girl that I am.

I was learning how to live when you found me
And taught me how to catch fireflies
I held them in my hands
And held on tight
Because I was afraid to let go.

That was my lesson
To learn how to hold, then let go
Because the people who matter always return
And those who don’t
Deserve to live without me.

But it is difficult to learn to breathe without you
It is difficult to close my eyes
And not feel your arms around me
And all I wish is to be holding my hands tight
Around that firefly I held with you.

Washed in moonlight, I step inside
And I just breathe as I wonder
How things changed, how things broke
How those who don’t return
Don’t deserve me

Even if I deserve them.
